On the topic of rednecks, it speaks to the good life a lot of these coastal elites live that they can so easily look down on farmers, ranchers and hunters. A redneck isn't inherently a trashy person, it is more a description of where they live and the prevalent lifestyle in those areas. That lifestyle being one of hard work, pride in one's accomplishments, and living with nature. If a redneck farmer came into possession of a $1,500 silk tie it would be a prized family heirloom used only at the most important of events. He would wear it to his daughter's wedding or to the commemoration of a large town project and it would be closely guarded. The redneck farmer would go to great lengths to make sure his tie was not damaged or marred in any way. Because the redneck farmer knows the value of a dollar.
Now, maybe President Trump has a different appreciation of a dollar than the redneck farmer, but the message is the same: the things you have should be taken care of, it is not simply a matter of throwing it out and getting a new one.
But that way of thinking informs other aspects of life as well... things like politics. I see many of the coastal elites being so adamant and forceful about things like recycling and conservation because they have realized that their lifestyle has wreaked havoc on the planet; and not the lifestyle of the redneck farmer who already composts and conserves and lives in and with nature every day. The elite will toss out the stained silk tie and get another one. It's easy and doesn't require any thought.
Friction comes from the imposition of ideas over groups you have no respect for. The coastal elite needs to educate the poor, stupid redneck about how to take care of the planet. And the not-so-stupid redneck sits there and says "I already do this, you're the one that needs to change. Don't offload your guilt and self-loathing onto me."

Those two things are mutually exclusive. The idiots on reddit aren't panicking. If anything they're cocky. The see that Trump has dipped in the polls, they don't see that Biden is a drooling mess and they don't see that they've driven lots of Trump support underground. For them to panic they would have to see what it is they're not seeing.
If Donald Trump were immortal and there were no presidential term limits, he could have already won 499 times in a row and when he wins again they would still be just as shocked on the 500th time as they were the 1st time.

It's been my fear for the past 3 years or so that the right would get complacent and the left would be able to steal it. Remember they're betting EVERYTHING on this. Silicon valley. The moles in his admin. The various glow in the darks. The Media. Soros. The Communist cells in the US. They're ALL working, and working together it looks like, to try and take out Trump this time. And nothing would make them happier than to re-use Hillary's election night stomping of Trump they had written and ready to go. It would let them use the "the left has a mandate and the right has been utterly rejected by the American people" narrative they had been setting up in Obama's presidency.

Either way I'm still going to support whoever wins and hope they can do their best. I may not agree, but I'll hope they can do good work for the public outside of partisan shit flinging. Because I want America to do well for all of us.

I'm reminded of the steel and railroad industry of the 20th century where Blacks and Whites worked long hours slaving just to make ends meet. Say what you want about their monetary value, but what unified them together is that they're just everyday men just getting by.
