The instant the rioters threaten their McMansions is when the gloves come off. As long as it's far removed from them it's just a stupid rhetorical game, the political class doesn't see the rioters as a threat to anyone except poor shmucks who live in deep blue cities. They probably think the statues are just symbols which should be left to the symbol-minded because the elite has stopped caring about the arts since the 60s (how else could they have degenerated into a money-laundering scheme?).

Imaging losing the point of the episode this fucking hard.
It represents these protests but not in the way this guy believes. In the episode Squidward goes in protest against the Krusty Krab for unfair paid while Spongebob doesn't even knows what a protest is, Squidward is pretty much actually the reason of why Spongebob gets fired in the first place, at that point he becomes Squid's useful idiot doing whatever he wants with the promise that he will get his job back, they get a few "supporters" until they get hungry and go back to the KK. By the end of the episode Spongebob has being radicalizated by accident because he took Squidward revolutionary statements to literal ("dismantle this oppressive establishment board by board") Mr. Krabs obviously gets pissed and in the end both Spongebob and Squidward get their jobs again but in worse conditions than before they left it.

The fact this retards is just as oblivious as Spongebob in the episode is so telling about how they think that is not even funny.

so what exactly have these UTTERLY VITAL PROTESTS managed to actually do? not that politics moves with any haste, but OWS dragged on for months and got a useless bill farted out that essentially did the opposite of what the protesters wanted while claiming to be regulatory

around here they've gotten the department to use beanbags instead of rubber, and to not use tear gas for dispersal. Maybe the chokehold thing. Lots of people whinging at businesses, but it seems like anywhere without terminal woke doesn't give in to the grifters right away

'course, as their containment states hemorrhage, they flood back to other places and then try to nestle their way into local governance to address such a grievance
