Nope, I have not. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I kind of doubt it would be worth the effort. Too much risk, modern dating do not appeal to me and I have way too high standards anyway, so I just prefer to go my own way.

No no, you got me wrong. I did not choose to fall in love, just like no one ever choose to fall in love. It just happens, and then you might choose to pursue long term relationship or ignore it and move on. Analogous goes for 2D. I'm not one of these people who say "oh, it's not my fault, I did not choose to be like that". I know well what and why I'm doing it.

That would be fucking hilarious, but also sounds like quite a lot of work. Dealing with "waifu channels" sound like cringe, but seeing them corrupt LGBT from inside would be definitely fun.
Speaking of LGBT, I sometimes use waifuism as a trap while talking with these activists. Most of the time they react towards this topic the same exact way supposed homophobes react towards them, according to their complains. "it's mental illness", "this is not normal", etc. If you point it out to them they get very frustrated.

Maladaptive daydreaming(assuming waifu classifies as such) is literally a psychiatric condition. Either way, it's definitely not normal.
