Every example you gave are highly trained positions that cost a ton to find a new employee, and even then most empoyers will give you multiple chances even on major fuck ups because it costs more to train a new employee then to keep an current one who just learned a big lesson.

Maybe your experence as a burger flipper gets you fired quickly but its not true for most jobs.

Let alone training, we are humans. Not to sound like a gay vo-tech advertisement, but these people do hold "heroic jobs" (clap for the NHS everybody) and because of it, mistakes are gonna be made. In high pressure or high risk jobs, mistakes are inevitable. Imagine being the EMS on one call where you have to make high pressure situations, then imagine doing that at least once a week if not once a day depending on the location (city vs suburb). Now you got the same exact shit for the police. I honestly feel like these people are usually over worshiped and i am more interested in gay sex then being a civil servant or listen to them jerk themselves off, but the idea that these people need to be perfect which is spurred over an overdose is beyond retarded.

I took this political typology quiz from the Pew Research Center earlier (it's pretty interesting, my result was "market skeptic Republican"). It divides people up into 9 categories of political viewpoints (or lack of). What was really interesting to me, though, was the demographic information for each of the categories

Looking at the most extreme categories at both ends, you see that they are both much whiter and much wealthier than the general US population. The two groups combined make up 29% of American adults. It would seem that at both the far-right end and far-left end, it's a bunch of rich white people with way more extreme views than 71% of the country.

I'm pretty sure that the 1st and 14th Amendments protect photographers in public places in all parts of the US. If the cesspool of Portland does have contrary laws they are unconstitutional.

I’m suspicious of anyone that claims to be a peaceful protester and doesn’t want to be filmed in any way. Protests are public, so if you don’t want to have the chance of being filmed in public, then don’t go to one.

The whole point of a protest (or petition) is to put your personal political power into the public space, as a message to the politicians that a mass of people wants something. If you aren't willing to stand and be counted publicly, then you should be accorded no political power, and your protest is meaningless.

Of course this is also the crowd that wants to declare others are the bad actors, and absolve the mob of any bad acts committed by "instigators". Hiding faces makes it impossible to verify the mob's claims; you are expected to take their denials at truth, because you can't prove otherwise. It's information control in the service of narrative control.

"I was there! I saw it! The protest was totally peaceful!" they say, 30 seconds after streaming themselves throwing fireworks.

When that reporter was being chased out by protesters, who were yelling, shining lasers in her eyes, playing music in her ear, and advancing on her aggressively, the chatters in the Woke stream called her the instigator. "They were peaceful until you showed up!" It's the same as all those videos of white people getting jumped by a mob for saying All Lives Matter; they want to excuse aggressive and violent reactions, as if normal people should know better than to approach people with low impulse control.
