I'm intrigued by the sudden amount of people exposing pedos on Twitter lately. Seems to be connected to the fluffy fandom post, which allegedly was done because of the huge amount of pedos on furry amino. (Anyone in their 20s on furry amino is probably a pedo anyway).

I did notice a lot of adults replying to the fluffy tweets with "if you're a minor you can dm me for a safe space any time" in the most grooming creepy way possible. We already saw this first hand with @rottrottrott so this isnt going to vanish anytime soon.

On your last point, unfortunately the kids seemed to be mixed on it. Some realize that the nature of the art is inherently harmful (usually those that suffered from being groomed) but others are quick to rush to the artist's aid - especially if they belong to a minority group. I have the feeling it will take another generation (or consecutive major scandals) to finally cement that sexual art of underage characters is just a huge red flag for predators.

Twitter has been in a slow decline for the last several years and while I think the platform shows the worst side of the fandom, I don't think Twitter itself is the problem. It's just a platform. It takes people to populate it - people with their ideals. Just because someone is banned off of it or moves somewhere else, it doesn't mean that individual with their ideals is suddenly gone. They're just fucking shit up on some other platform.

Like I said, I want to be optimistic about the fandom moving in the right direction but I still see plenty of the same people who would rip Growly to shreds simultaneously defending feral & cub porn. If they're adamant about moving in the right direction, it's still going to take another generation or 2 and possibly the fallout of the fandom before the idea cements that those things are just never okay.

I think you're reading too much into what I've said.

Lemme make it clear - while it is worrying that this fandom is the way that it is, it's not something that's keeping me awake at night. I've accepted the MASSIVE faults that it has & it really makes no difference to me whether it gets better, worse, or just burns to the ground entirely.

Reason being - there will always be an online community that has predators in it. The nature of the internet itself makes it an inevitability. You quash one, another will take its place. While it's ideal that every predator gets caught and sent to prison, that's merely a pipe dream. Before the age of the internet, predators lived in isolation. They were aware there were others like them, but aside from mere chance or getting arrested & put in a cell with other predators, they had no means of forming a group. They lived in constant fear of being ousted and thus kept to themselves. Now that we have this massively expansive means of anonymous communication, there's really no way of holding them back from organizing. It's a grim reality but unfortunately the only way to stop them at the root would just be to destroy what the internet is and no one wants that.

I'm still going to be here to document notable groups of predators in the hopes that something can be done about it by law enforcement on a case-by-case basis, but I'm not doing it to enact change on the community level. I'm doing it because it would be funny for those who did the vile things seen in the Zoo leaks get anal fissures after being fisted for 5 hours straight by some gigantic black dude named Tiny. If you try to go on a one-person crusade to change a community, you are going to be quickly burnt out and disillusioned with the world. Even people who've brought notable change to their communities and are propped up by history as the " sole reason change happened " didn't do it alone. They had groups supporting them and plenty of community outreach.

If you're on here because you want to change furries, you're definitely here for the wrong reason. Furries don't listen to this place. There are VERY few instances where they reference it positively but there will always be someone to respond with " bUt ThEy MuRdErEd TrAnS pEoPle " or whatever. Not to mention no one here wants to engage on a crusade against the whole ass fandom. When the Zoo leaks originally leaked, that was about the closest thing this place ever got to a crusade but EVERYONE everywhere was trying to dig through that flaming trash heap to get people arrested - can't exactly hold it against people on that one.
