Smart basically doxed anyone who tried to come at him for pulling the curtain back about the Star Citizen fraud.

The really shitty thing is that the Star Citizen thread was a pretty ok little corner of SA, but there was a dedicated cadre from FYAD who kept trying to get it shut down with concern trolling in QCS, and then the whole Beer 4 the Beer God thing went down, but that was 50% karma considering how badly he and Beet Wagon leaned into TDS in the SC threads.

I vaguely remember that. I unfriended Beer on every platform after he pulled the "I'm going to sell all my firearms" cuck signalling after some such hyper sensationalized shooting. Goons cannot separate real life from the internet, or video games.

Of the two mods who replaced Smart in the SC thread, Beer was slightly better than Beet when it came to not being a TDS ”CHUD p0wner”, but they were both cucks. They even banned the word “rëtärd” due to pressure from other mods.

They did both eventually get refunded, though.

There are still some goons with thousands ”invested” in SC, and those assholes were also among those trying to kill the SC thread constantly.

This is 100% true. Derek Smart curated a pretty good Star Citizen community on SA, even though he personally hated the game. He (shocking for SA) put his personal biases behind actually creating an area that was good for discussion. His Discord was much the same.

In the end, the goon whales who supported the game and their constant brigading to "save" their favorite non-game combined with abject laziness of some of the other mods saw the experiment end, but he was certainly a better moderator than kewpuh, videogames, or FAU.

Here is what would make someone the best SA mod/admin ever:
-Not actively engaging in a thread with their main account
-Banning/probating people for breaking rules & attempting to ruin threads, and not because of petty grudges against them or their views.

That's it. That low bar would make you the best fagmin in the twenty year history of the site. But it is a standard goons cannot reach.

Is Star Citizen even still a thing anymore? I stopped seeing it on almost every games related media I still frequent.

You'd think it would be long fucking dead by now but my theory on why it's never got shut down for being such an obvious scam is that the government is getting mad stacks in tax revenue.
(And also the government's institutional vicious hatred of gamers but that's a topic for another time)
