I can't buy it because there's a term that is literally the same thing and does not need to highlight the fact that you bat for the same team: "Friends w/benefits". I doubly so can't buy into it since really, using words like that just kind of sets you apart from the masses, which is hilarious since that's exactly why a lot of folk at the LGBTA crowd shit on "civil unions". Triply can't buy into it since I get serious vibes of stereotyping from that, since you are literally screaming at the top of your lungs "I BAT FOR THE SAME TEAM AND THIS IS A KEY PART OF MY LIFE AND ONE OF THE KEY THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ME!" It's the equivalent of writing a character around their attributes rather than their personality; IE a token brought in to force diversity.

Reminds me of two things honestly. The first being how Metroid and Alien came to have their protagonists: the character was mostly fleshed out in their roles and the like, and this question came up both times: "You know what'd be neat? If this character was a woman.". They went with it, and that's how you got those strong heroic female characters.

The second reminds me of a gimmick I came up with for writing characters that I still use to some degree while DM'ing for flavor or for interesting scenarios: Roll dice randomly to determine these honestly superficial elements if you wanted diversity. I rolled a d10 to determine sexual orientation, a d2 to determine gender, and d100 for things like race/religion/whatever else you felt like covering. You did this only after coming up with the character though, so that you don't incidentally tap into those stereotypes while creating them.

This isn't a bad idea, it'd also be good to add to the thread so people who are joining late can pick up. Spring could probably have their own wiki one day, with the rate info about them comes up.

If no-one else is working on one, I'll try my hand later tonight and edit it whenever more info comes out.

I'm not sure if it's him, but it's fishy that this blog suddenly appear out of the blue and that Jeremy is reblogging from it. The bathroomtrap url also doesn't seem to frequently post as much as this one either and the blog content is extremely similar.
