I've been working through HP Lovecraft's works lately and this is an except from the story I read today:

I follow up my reading by listening to a podcast about each story - this one was recorded something like a decade ago - and I knew they were going to pan the story because it is pretty bad, but nonetheless that passage really stood out in light of what is going on right now.

The Street was written c. 1920.

Normally, I would recommend people to get a gun...I can't say that for Limitless.

The protesters in Portland successfully navigated the concept of "pulleys", proving they are smarter than their fellow travelers in CHAZ.

Most of them are around the cesspool of Portland, one is going on in Springfield, OR but based on last night the bikers are having none of it, and San Diego has on going at what appears to be at the plaza in front of the U.S. Grant.

Honestly, I don't care about Portland as I consider it a lost cause.

I think below the surface, it's just an excuse to party and socialize after the covid lockdowns closed a bunch of jobs and recreation. It was the only way they could save summer, and no one is stopping them. Plus, they are probably being paid more to spend their time causing trouble than they were at their low skilled jobs.

I can't speak for him, but if I had to guess I would infer that he means a land that is specifically and unquestionably meant for whites to be the undisputed overwhelming majority (if not sole, in this hypothetical scenario) population in it. Of course that gets trickier when you talk about the delineation regarding pan-European sentiments, but that's a whole other discussion in and of itself.

A country or countries where European (or derivative) culture is dominant and the state governs based on European derived values and protects people adhering to said values. No country is entirely homogeneous, but most western nations were 90%+ white and Christian before experiencing mass migration. I would also argue that white nationalism doesn't necessarily equate to advocating for an ethnostate.

No, the ability to have autonomy, politically and culturally which is clearly (at least in my view) an inevitable lost cause in some countries such as the US and Canada based on the demographics and what appears to be a sharp rise in hostility of the former.
