It's because Chantal's dumb as shit, and doesn't care about nutrition. She really only wants to eat fast food, even though she knows its bad for her, and the only reasons she eats even remotely "healthy" food are to defy the haters, or in moments of acute self-loathing when she decides she needs to lose weight.
She gets a similar, if smaller, dopamine hit from buying stuff as she does from eating fast food. Following directions, planning meals, shopping from a list, weighing and measuring portions, and learning to cook the kind of food that will help her lose weight and keep it off? There's no dopamine rush there. But there is in buying a new product, while enjoying the fantasy that it will quickly transform her into the skinny queen she's meant to be.
Imagine allowing Chantal to move into your home. She's filthy, both in her personal hygiene and home environment. She'd eat fast food in her room to avoid scrutiny and criticism, attracting insects with the hidden stash of boxes and wrappers. She not only wouldn't contribute to keeping the house clean, but she (and the cats) would dirty it up even more, and also end up ruining the furniture. She'd eat all the "good" groceries you bought, maybe replace them with garbage she bought if you were lucky, and at the same time you could forget about her cooking dinner. And any attempts to get her to change her habits and cooperate with you and not create even more fucking housework for you would be met with her shitty, defiant attitude, because she can't deal with restrictions or being told what to do.
Plus I am sure Chantal has at least 2-3 credit cards(like most people do)
I hear what you're saying about her barren life free of expenses related to hobbies, friends, etc, but if she's eating out two times per day at $30 each (being conservative), that's $1800 per month. I'm sure the exact math is different, but her addiction to fast food must be extremely expensive.
How do we know this? Has she said this in a video? It seems like people here assume Granny is giving her money, but where did that assumption come from?
Grandma buying her lunch is different from Grandma paying her bills. Also, most normal people would shop at the same time they take someone else shopping, it doesn't mean that granny is paying for her groceries, rent, and giving her spending money.
Chantal makes references to the errands she runs for her grandma, and she has a pattern of going to see her grandma and her mom at the end of the month. As far as I know, that's where the assumption comes from. Chantal has not confirmed or denied that she gets regular income from anyone in her family.
There have been several times where her farm boy hauls and new outfits have coincided with days that she visited her grandma. It also seems somewhat regular across months (i.e. times where adsense may be slow, etc)
