reddit General

Technically not a janny, because he doesn't, in fact, do it for free. That's the fucking CEO/co-founder's account ROFL.

As a reminder, he looks like this:

He also previously edited user comments without their knowledge because they were criticizing him.

He's a soyboy faggot with a gorilla wife who chimped out after losing at tennis. He will never be loved by the reddit userbase no matter how much tranny girlcock he sucks.

Early Life seems clean, but Personal Life has something interesting:

I just looked, forum regs are closed.
Null should change the message to "Fuck off, we're full".

A list of notable banned subreddits (I can add more if you find them):
r/ConsumeProduct, r/ClericalFascism, r/Smuggies, r/DebateAltRight, r/bruhfunny, r/ShitNeoconsSay, r/soyboys, r/imgoingtohellforthis2, r/AltRightChristian, r/TheHonkPill, r/topnotchshitposting, r/TheNewRight, r/DarkHumorAndMemes, r/GenderCritical, r/ChapoTrapHouse, r/rightwingLGBT, r/whitebeauty, r/The3rdPosition, r/The_Donald, r/CumTown, r/FreeDrama, r/FreeSpeechWorld, r/againstwomensrights, r/ChapoTrapHouse2, r/blackfathers.
What I find funny is that reddit censored the names of the subreddits like they're fucking voldemort. It also makes it harder for me to research what subreddit has been banned and why.

Apologies if I'm :late:, but why did Soyboys get banned? I thought making fun of men would be protected as the majority.

Also, never heard of blackfathers. Judging by how people here talked about it, I'm guessing the title is a bit misleading, but I'm just picturing reddit banning a bunch of black men innocently talking about their families.

That was the stupidest thing the CEO has done openly on the site, it poisons any evidence gathered from reddit in a court case and also makes them liable for the user's content. If reform comes out down the road (and with this internet wide censorship under the mask of 'removing hate speech' it most likely will) reddit is going to be dry fucked by the US government over shit like that.

Makes me glad I signed up a while ago, haha.

Seriously though, I would call the newest set of bans and rules abhorrent, but it's honestly just putting into words what we already knew.

- Hate against the majority (whites) has always been allowed, it's not some new rule.
- Most of the subs banned were extremely small, with their big trophy kill (the_donald) already being quarantined and frozen months ago.
- The other right leaning subs were the only places "unpopular" opinions were allowed, not due to site-wide policies but through community censorship. A sizable portion of them also weren't centered around hate whatsoever.

Realistically, nothing has changed, they've just made the culture of reddit into the law of reddit

(rant warning)

My reddit use was at an all time low to begin with, but this killed the website for me and it has nothing to do with the banned subs (I didn't even know most of them existed). Hell, it even soured my opinion of the internet in general.

I've logged out of my main account there and I don't think I'll be logging back in to it. I have a separate account for some productivity and work related subs, but I can't see myself posting on that one much any more. Outside of r/games for news (which is a sub that has it's own problems) I think I'm done with big congregate sites. Gonna find my self some nice, smaller art and writing forums and try to do something more productive, maybe make some worthwhile connections. Hell, If I find a decent gaming news site or forum, reddit will probably be dead to me.

I'm not going to go to a website where the leadership isn't looking out for me due to the color of my skin or because I have a penis (yes, the majority female thing keeps getting thrown around, but you know the rule is against white men.) That in its very self if racist, and if you don't think it is that doesn't make me the racist.

Sorry for the ranty post.

Probably something along the lines of "Promoting the dangerous alt-right conspiracy theory that white men's testosterone is dropping as a result of birth control/other estrogen chemicals in the food and water supply and that it results in distinct personality types"

TBH Reddit's been dead about as long as Digg has.

Every day I find a new reason to hate that absolutely atrocious site.

Seriously, what the fuck happened with the internet in the past 10-20 years? Every forum needs to be a "safe-space", going against the majority opinion gets your post silenced / hidden and god forbid you call someone a nigger. Why would you want to visit a website where nothing gets discussed, it's just witty comments for le upvotes, animal videos and clickbaity "LOOK WHAT MY BLACK TRANS GF GOT ME AFTER MY VASECTOMY" threads.

Oh, and whoever designed that default layout needs to be euthanized.

For literally anyone who still cares about /r/KotakuInAction, HandOfBane just launched their own personal website that basically acts as a singular subreddit. https://kotakuinaction.win/

KIA2 has been pretty solid, quiet, and sliding under the radar. I'll be adding that above site as my goto for gaming news since Oneagrygamer is all about hating on jews, women, gays, etc etc and gets old after awhile even though it's lightyears better in content and relativity than Kotaku, RPS, Eurogamer and literally anything else out there.

Lol, rip r/GenderCritical. I've chilled out in the last few months though I still retain my views and the twitter (@rGenderCritical) comments are full of absolute garbage, just troons throwing a party and taunting and making fun of actual women for their periods and stuff like that and what-have-you. Glad I'm no longer as involved in GC as I was, I'd be sperging the fuck out otherwise. Very unfortunate that women can't talk about their fears of getting violated and attacked.

Good call on closing account creation though we don't need redditfags fucking up the site. These fuckers always migrate someplace new

all true, but these days I'm skeptical anyone wants anything outside of that bland monoculture. and without a certain level of general interest any new forum won't have enough traffic to make it viable. even extremely conservative subreddits cannot wean themselves off that website and the ease of visibility it offers. and crowds you'd think could be early adopters just don't want anything new. why post on 9/v/ when 4chan is still up? there is little sense of community like a pre-social media internet. there is only a currency of visibility, managed by 3 tech companies.

To be honest, I think this is the reason the problem has gone on as long as it has.

No matter how much people cry about censorship on these giant corporate websites, many of them are hesitant to actually leave because leaving would reduce their audience. They don't want to just talk with other people or share their opinion, they want to preach to a crowd and get lots of asspats, and the draw of these big corporate sites is that just about everyone else is using them. Every so often a wave of bans results in a small exodus to somewhere else, but that exodus never lasts for long because there's not enough of an audience to hold most users' interest.

Having a return to small forums would ultimately solve a lot of issues, but people would have to be broken of their addiction to ego-stroking first.

It's fast, cheap validation for people who have nothing interesting to say. All you need to do is latch on to the lowest common denominator and wait for those sweet reactions upvotes to roll in. I don't even believe the heavy safe-space moderation part of it came about as part of some malicious agenda-pushing conspiracy, it just naturally evolved out of people wanting that easy echo chamber of positive attention.

What's weird is how people still value that forced praise even when they know its forced and they did nothing to earn it.

Lt. Col. Jean V. Dubois (Ret.) said:
"You! I've just awarded you the prize for the hundred-meter dash. Does it make you happy? […] No dodging, please. You have the prize — here, I'll write it out: 'Grand prize for the championship, one hundred-meter sprint.'" He had actually come back to my seat and pinned it on my chest. "There! Are you happy? You value it — or don't you?" Mr. Dubois had looked surprised. "It doesn't make you happy?"
"You know darn well I placed fourth!"
"Exactly! The prize for first place is worthless to you . . . because you haven't earned it. But you enjoy a modest satisfaction in placing fourth; you earned it."
