Chris Avellone MeToo'd

"muh pop culture references" is a dumb, overblown meme at this point. There are some really stupid and immersion-breaking ones like a NPC spouting "Danger, Will Robinson!" but most are innocuous and blend well enough that you'll only know its a reference if you actually know what it's referencing. The game has like 50+ hours of content; I can't see a rare quote or name here or there ruining the game for somebody.

Let me give you a refresher.

Bear and Bull, Bear and Bull, machine, package, why do these fuckers take so much damage, Navarro, Bear and Bull. That help?

Nope, Bear and Bull jogs nothing.

I remember the setting, I remember some things that happen in it, but as far as the crux of the story I'm just totally blanking on it, keep in mind it's been as long since I've played the other DLCs but I remember them way better.

One thing I do remember though is being the last of the New Vegas DLCs it felt like it came out way later than most story DLCs tend to follow the main game, which felt a bit weird.

You forgot "Courier Six".

This is vaguely familiar though.

If anyone considers anything besides Fallout 2 to the best in the series, all you have to do is ask them this: can you become a porn star in that one?

Not only that but it simply has a much wider array of assets than the first game, Fallout 1 is a classic, but 2 is simply more, more, more.

do you really expect a bunch of nerds to not do that though, especially in the late 90's?

Yeah, it's totally forgivable for a game from the 90s because that sort of thing was still a novelty back then.

Lonesome Road sucked, but I quite enjoyed Blood Money and Old World Blues.

Lonesome Road was a masterpiece and it's story says a lot about current events.

Ulysses was obsessed with the past and channeled his own personal failings into correcting past injustices. The courier was freed from such obsessions and focused on the future.. or not, depending on the player.

A group indiscriminately hating on wypipo and men to correct past injustices has cancelled him. It's almost poetic.

Let me give you a refresher.

Going through that with an unarmed melee build is a hellish experience....

Some spergs are really fucking insane in how anal they are about that kind of thing. There were idiots saying Persona 4 Golden was as bad as Working Designs games because it had a couple of small references.

To be honest, I've always mostly liked Working Designs. Some of their decisions were completely moronic but I can't imagine I'd like the Arc the Lad series if it had gotten some usual PSX-era translation (Hell, we probably wouldn't have even gotten Arc the Lad 1 - 3 if not for them or Growlanser 2 & 3). Still, comparing anyone to them these days in terms of script alteration is genuinely retarded.

Honestly, I think WD fucking around with difficulty levels and things like that were worse sins than their translations, but some of the jokes in their games were pretty awful.

Pretty much. "This game has the best quest design, dialogue, location variety, NPCs and overall player choice in the series, but a few meme lines mean it's overrated." I've never gotten it. It's not even like Fallout 1 was that much better. I can't think of anything more immersion breaking in my post-apocalyptic RPG than finding dude weed lmaos, giant dinosaur footprints, or a fucking TARDIS.

The leaders of that Atheism Plus movement or w/e it was called from... wow maybe 5-10 years ago now? learned that VERY quickly. They made sure never to be alone with a woman without a witness, due to how many male leaders were essentially being unpersoned by allegations.
You mean the Euphoric crowd, with their superior intellects, finally figured out what Billy Graham knew to do 60 years ago?

I like the pop references in Fallout 2. It made the game feel like the God's Must be Crazy.

The Business Insider article says the "assault" happened the night after Karissa first met Chris at a convention in 2012.

According to this article, Dragon*Con 2012 was held from the 31st of August to the 3rd of September in Atlanta, Georgia.

On the 29th of August 2012, Karissa offered to show David Gaider and Chris Priestly around at Dragon*Con:

At 10:08 PM EST on the 30th of August 2012, Karissa was at the bar:

Here's Karissa's first ever mention of Chris one hour later, apparently paraphrasing banter between him and Gaider about kissing:

Karissa's next tweet is from when she woke up at 10:56 AM the next day:

At 12:35 PM, she was wondering how she got back to her room that night, with Chris apparently saying that finding her room was a challenge, with David Gaider then claiming he had to become the adult:

By the 19th of September, she was missing Dragon*Con.

So she tried to hobnob with some industry people, got herself embarrassingly wasted, then relied on said industry people to drag her drunk ass back to her hotel room. From there she blue-balled Avellone, who left with no complaints and proceeded to be a perfect gentleman afterwards by still interacting with her in a friendly, joking manner.

8 years later... rape?

This is a tweet she made, supposedly the day after she says he assaulted her.

Not that it matters. When he got cancelled, he accepted it and didn't defend himself. He told people not to support or respect him and stopped tweeting weeks ago. If he wants to lie down and die, there's not much that can be done.

Chris Avellone isn't dead, and he's back to break the silence.

On one hand, he's still sounding limp-wristed by using cucked language like "allow voices to be heard".

On the other hand, dismantling accusations in public view without resorting to a lawsuit, if done right, might be a cheaper way to achieve a similar result to what costed Vic Mignogna $300k+ and 2+ years of his life. That result being still having a modicum of professional life after being cancelled by drooling swines.

Shit like this is part of why social media is a blight upon society and all the more reason why the US legal system should (but won't) undergo massive reform to reflect the modern realities of retards' voices being "uplifted" and "allowed to he heard".
