reddit General

I'm doing that because I felt like I did more harm than good.

This shit is fucking gnarly and I've been trying to wrap my head around it for the past few weeks so I can talk about it.
At least you're trying to think critically about it. Most people just mindlessly line up with one camp or another.

People keep saying one of the good things about reddit is at least you can get help on various topics but is that actually true?

Logged in to my account for the first time in about 6 months, had a look at posts I made. Maybe I've just been really unlucky but any time I've had questions I'd get half answers or downright retarded gibberish.

You-Pls recommend pc case with DVD drive as I use them still.
Reddit-Here is a good one.
You-doesn't have DVD drive?
Reddit-a what now? No one uses those you loser.

Tends to be the bigger subs though, maybe smaller communities have lower concentration of tards and are more helpful, I don't know.

The site itself, like this one does sometimes apparently, creates a hive mind. The idea is the site is built for discussion, but in reality it is for people who want to have the same opinions but hear them in different voices.
what? most people are here to laugh about people like you
I am immortal, I have inside me blood of kings!
I have no rival, No man can be my equal!

Reddit was always bad. Perhaps this will encourage some of those hypocrites whining about it to actually leave.

Pretty funny watching all the dropkicks from consumeproduct sperg about their 'enlightened anticonsumerism' sub that dindu nothin', when i've seen more antisemitism, racism and outright misogyny on that sub than I ever saw from the edgy facists on Political Compass Memes. Consume Product was just asking for a ban with that shitty moderation they had, too. A lot of bullshit in the banwave (the feminist subs especially, not including the blatantly incel-y pink pill subs) but really, what were they expecting.

You know what's gonna happen.

They're going to invite ironic posters in droves. People will claim that whites make up 13% of the population and cause 50% of the murders. They're going to post mugshots with the brightness and contrast blown the fuck out and jokingly claim that they hope those white devils get the chair. People will LARP as concerned citizens.

They brought this on themselves.

I've noticed this too, I think a lot of the time it is just bots, there are some tricks you can pull with PMing them to find out, and most of the time you can get them to click on a link that tells you that their ip adress is from a sever farm.

Yeah, it's almost hard to believe how shocked some people are. The only thing that surprised me was that they didn't cap more subreddits. I thought KiA was surely on the chopping block.

I think that would be pretty funny for a few weeks, but it's optimistic to believe redditors are any good at trolling and wouldn't just create their own subreddit for this specific kind of trolling and beat into the dirt over months until getting banned.

I will be empathetic here and stop my sperging:

you guys are getting Deplatformed and marginalize, and that's causing a lot of anger. I'm sorry you're all going through this, and it sucks and it is not okay. I'm quite sure @Garth is the most angry has he has rated me dumb all this time lmao.

Y'all should have made a site outside of reddit after a certain point a LONG time ago, however, but now is the time: figure that shit out, and fight against deplatforming.

I have never had a reddit account. Reddit is cancer. And your responses are dumb, so I rated them as such.

Cope.

IDK why people keep responding to the obvious redditor.

Since the redditor called me out specifically (even though redditor got an assortment of neg-rates from others) I assumed I hurt it on a very personal level, so I addressed it personally rather than rating it dumb again. I'm compassionate to a fault.

r/itsafetish is still there, just privated from the looks of things. I'm genuinely annoyed that r/GenderCritical is gone though - lotta femcel spergs on the sub, but the moderation was the sharpest and most on the ball that i've ever seen, and they were absolute sticklers for the rules. They absolutely did not deserve to be banned, and I think they assumed that their good record of moderation would keep them safe. Pretty interesting that MRA subs get to stay up, though.

If I understand the left's logic, if I upped and moved to China, I couldn't be racist against the Chinese because from the top down China is run by Chinese.

Nothing these clowns say is ever consistent so pointing out its inconsistency is like water off a duck's back. It's just thought stopping cliches to deal with cognitive dissonance, like "hey you say you don't like racism so what's with all the hate against white people?" If you then challenge the mindless slogan they just go full NPC and fritz out.

Worse they'll all be coming here lol. I don't know what will be more annoying, the influx of TERFs or people sperging about TERFs.

Me too, but, just seen some jannies remove stuff for no reason other than because it goes against group think. Depends on the thread I guess.

At least someone isn't posting child porn in threads they dislike. Fucking autist redditors.

Reddit was legitimately interesting, insofar as news and content aggregates can be, when the front page wasn't hobbled. I remember in the early 2010s between the time I woke up and the time I got to work the content would have changed multiple times over.

Now posts are clearly artificially stuck on the top for maximum viewership or whatever.

The other biggest drawback is the infinite splitting off of subreddits. It's impossible to actually foster a community there and discuss things because anything tangential gets moved to its own subreddit for being off topic or whatever and kills the conversation.

Reddit is a peak consume media product.
