It is the start of a very worrying "EVERYONE MUST HAVE A SMILE ON AT ALL TIMES, OR ELSE" standard in tech. Does that American flag have half of it replaced with the Confederate flag? This is either a very poor Ukrainian-tier Photoshop or an individual with a very warped view of American history.
I could see someone flying both the US and Confederate flag if they had ancestors who fought on both sides of the Civil War or they had a Confederate ancestor and wanted to honor them, but that half and half US/Confederate flag is stupid as hell. The US and, technically, the Confederacy were independent nations and mixing their flags does a disservice to both their histories.
I got a neighbor from West Virginia on my block and he says the Confederate flag is bullshit.
I'm sure Virginias reaction to West Virginia leaving was much like some of the Unions view on the Southern States succeeding; a resounding "Good Riddance and Don't Come Back!". One thing I read about the Civil War was that some Northerners were glad to see the South leave because they saw it as the backwater of the country who thought they would come crawling back in a few years and if they left the country forever then no big loss. By the point the Civil War happened the North and the South were essentially two different and separate nations with different economic systems and it was inevitable they would come to blows.

Waging war against reddit really just means you've already lost. One, reddit is for losers so it's pointless. Two, reddit is fucking massive and will crush you if you step into their territory . It's like choosing to fight a minefield. It can do precisely nothing if you stand outside it but you'll get obliterated if you approach first
They're not QUITE dead. They have a website that looks similar to their Reddit.

Also, the irony in them saying "if you can't handle capitalism the rich shouldn't pay for you", while simultaneously moaning about nobody made a successful media platform for them. If you want to beat silicon valley, learn to fucking code.
Silicon Valley has historically been a leftist shitshow backed by the Californian state govt, though. It's like saying "if you want a new banking platform, make your own!"
People make their own banking platforms all the time. Silicon Valley and the firms associated with that culture is just better at what they do. It is completely possible to make a social media of your own. You just need to learn how to code, make a database and put in a lot of time. After all, how do you think this place came into existence?
