Went back and clipped out the riot footage video that the Minnesota Senate Republicans put together and the DFL kept referencing as if it was overly biased. It‘s actually really tame, considering some of the footage they could’ve used like “shoot the white folks” lady on Unicorn Riot (I’m working through those hours of footage for clips too...the AutoZone‘s first fire starting, the semi being set on fire that I haven’t seen anywhere after it happened).

Skip to 3:55 though, and it’s obvious what the DFL is so upset about: there’s unedited looting footage that shows exactly who was most destructive. Anyone from the city and state will quickly recognize most of those joggers are not from other parts of the state or country. The majority live in the Twin Cities and possibly immediate suburbs and they’re likely DFL supporters.

I’ve said it before; at this point, pop culture has now become our only culture. That’s bad enough but when that type of consumerism meets identity politics...well, I can be here all day listing fucked up examples.
The problem is that everything in the past from books to fashions are deemed problematic and not worth pursuing. This stamps out any attempt at reconnecting to a genuine American culture, hence why brands have become a substitute. And who knows how long that will last.

I think BBT really turned dunning-kruger up to 11 by feeding a bunch of dum-dums concepts they would never really get. Reddit had the assist with constantly referencing stuff like Schrodingers Cat while not expanding on them and just turning it into yet another "I know a thing" moment. "Going green" has been a HUGE money making scheme this past decade. There was no oversight at all on what was considered "green" and various companies (hilariously) tacked it onto everything they possibly could. Thing is, pointing this out means nothing to most.

Trying to explain to them that the 97% agree thing is fake already has an inbuilt criticism loophole; the "accepted scientists" have to agree to get onto the council of something like 20,000 professionals, but to the average person emotionally invested in the whole scam, those people aren't accepted BECAUSE they agree, but they agree BECAUSE they are intelligent, and only intelligent people could possibly get onto the council because only intelligent people understand how dire it is.

Edit: The irony of the article separating the "standard" green product producers from the "fraudsters" is hilarious, considering the whole argument was that these companies were cutting corners and destroying the planet in the first place to save money. Now they're claiming going green has increased their revenue by billions.

Plain and simple, when something being taken down is brought up for debate, it should be brought to a vote, especially if taxpayer dollars went towards making the statues in the first place. Bring it to a vote and abide by whatever the results are.

By openly advocating for and encouraging mass destruction of these statues, these people are only promoting anarchy, and when the other side turns around and does it to a statue they all like, they aren't going to like it and call them all chaos bringing bigots, but the problem with that is that I have a long memory and I will remember all this shit from 2020 for quite a while.
