unless you live in Detroit, your local public school is gonna teach you how to read before you’re 12, which is a big plus over unschooling
Teachers, specifically middle and high school, have degrees in whatever they're teaching, and homeschoolers are obligated to use curricula approved by the state anyway. Your kids have to pass state tests in order to get their GEDs. Teaching jobs are so competitive in some places that many high school teachers have master's degrees. Not to mention that homeschooled kids are often socially retarded weirdos. Which would you rather have teach your kid, a team of people each with degrees in their field, or a fucking housewife?
In the UK, there are huge concerns about the grooming of children via woke LGBTQBBQ pressure groups. The safeguarding frameworks drawn up in th e wake of some truly hideous child abuse cases are being trashed by them. For example: confidential disclosure. This is the concept that you do not ever promise a kid you will keep secrets. If you have a secret with a child the child is in a vulnerable position and it’s one of the key pressure points for manipulation and abuse. The trans lobby want that gone and actively promote in schools that teachers can keep the confidence of any child who thinks they’re trans. Predator paradise.
In my state, that's only the case for elementary school teachers. Middle school teachers have to at least have an associate's, and high school teachers need a bachelor's. However, a lot of teachers have to be overqualified to land a teaching job because they're so competitive. Pretty much all the teachers I had in public high school had master's degrees in whatever area they taught. For fuck's sake, my goddamn art teacher had a master's degree, and my biology teacher was a retired neurosurgeon. Granted, I went to an IB school, so that might have affected the quality of the staff (I wasn't in the IB program, though.)

Most mammals do it (not necessarily for nutrient absorbtion, as is often the excuse). So people should, too. Because humans obviously give birth in dangerous places where the smell of blood can attract predators.

Hamsters do the same thing. Had a dumb teacher attribute it to handling the newborns rather than keeping the father hamster in the cage with the mom and babies, though.
