World of Warcraft Rank 1 Player Reckful Commits Suicide

Just found these links, apparently it was known for a while that Indie Fox (same girl who was about to #MeToo reckful and then deleted it) was skanking it up

Directly references her in the context of reckful

Indie flirts with a guy on stream... I 100% would not believe this woman.

This kind of lifestyle, where all you do is play video games and stream them to other people that just watch people play video games, is completely unrewarding and leads to depression, especially considering they have to play a shitty product even if they don't want to most of the time to remain relevant. I don't follow streamers much but I have seen the data posted proving that pivoting to other games can be a huge viewership loss, and despite the fact that I'm sure he was pretty rich, he was more than likely afraid to switch to something else, mental health be damned.

Same thing happens with YouTubers which is why you get those every 6~ month videos about their mental health and how it's hard to keep dodging all the blows thrown by YouTube. Living exclusively in pop-culture is actually killing people at this point. One could argue that they would have done it no matter what, but I don't think that's the case, considering how many of their issues seem to be exacerbated by their day-to-day lives and the media they're consuming for profit wearing them thin.

That's the thing - For the most part, the internet is still this weird, false world that's pretty out-of-touch with everyday reality, and the deeper you go into a single community, the worse it gets. You need to be able to regularly disconnect from it and go do something else, or you'll go crazy.

We've finally reached the future where everybody can be famous for at least 15 minutes, but not everybody who wants to be famous is cut out for it, especially when they don't even get an agent or a manager.

It's still on the person themselves and no one is to blame. Even people telling him to kill himself aren't to blame, if that actually did happen. People need to take responsibility for themselves and their mental health, it can't be forced onto them. Subjecting yourself to the constant negativity online is guaranteeing you'll either be corrupted by the shitty people and become exactly like them, or you'll go crazy and break down from it. There's really only two routes for those that make their entire existence online.

I don't think that sits well with people though, and their claims of callous indifference about how garbage the internet has become are just a thin veneer of self gratification, thinking they're above it all.

The internet for most people is still just a way to access information, maybe some entertainment, and possibly a bit of discourse between people, not their entire lives, identity, and existence. Those that make it such are doomed.

Gotta do the millennial chick meme and "self care"

I think we'll be seeing many, many more suicides in the coming years in similar fashions, especially as zoomers reach their mid-20s and have done nothing but live online, creating Discord personas copied from Metokur and others around the net.

Really don't agree. There's a link between people killing themselves after being told to kill themselves.

And has already been said he was probably about to get #MeToo'd by an onlyfans thot. Look up Alec Holowka's suicide.

If you know you're an ultra sensitive person, I agree you should definitely avoid the Internet and avoid being a public figure, because people will shit on anything.

Unfortunately a lot of the attention has been given to people who deliberately insert themselves into controversial shit (like politics) and then fucking cry when they get backlash. AKA 100% of dramacows (fuck them though, I don't care about their feels)

Ouch! Friends let me make a humble request. If you do at any point feel the need to An Hero yourself. Please do so in a way that is neat and considerate of the poor souls that have to find and clean up the mess. Just please avoid leaping off high places onto concrete. Or even worse busy highways. If you feel the need to jump off something, find a bloody bridge over water. It’s more environmentally friendly. Suicide is an inherently selfish act, but doing so in a way that leaves a huge mess that needs to be cleaned up by people getting paid way to little to be dealing with your area effect splash damage is among the worlds biggest dick moves. Don’t Do It!

not only that, but there are more issues, such as triggering some faggot on twitter/social medias and prompting them to "cancel you", or having to speak in a certain way (avoiding no-no words such as "nickelodeon"), or having to "support" every mentally ill individual that plays pretend being a woman, because otherwise you'll end up enrage said idiots from earlier.
Thank you 2014!

That woman was dating the guy, and prior to them dating, he'd been a beta orbiter that she chose to fuck with. I've listened to a couple of true crime podcasts about that case, and he very specifically begged his way into the relationship. The teens bullied in high school and told to kill themselves would make a better case, but for the vast majority of people, being told to kill themselves won't actually make them do it.

For those on that borderline, they should realize how fragile they are, and as they would have in the past, find more solitary hobbies. Those types have always existed, and many of them became renowned scientists or philosophers or what have you and dedicated themselves to learning alone. The ease of access to this kind of life style just doesn't suit them, and the people online can't be held to blame en masse. Mental illness and depression are very real, but it's also up to you and maybe those closest to you to keep yourself from what you can't handle.

It's not a bad example at all. Mentally ill or depressed people are more likely to commit suicide.

The whole reason why fragile, solitary people seek out other people and seek attention is because they're lonely. Solitary hobbies are good, but not a cure all. Weak people are much better off slowly acclimating to more intense situations so they can be a part of normal socializing, too. Usually they have so few close relationships, that they have no idea what counts as normal

cliffs into jailbaits? good to know.

Yeah, and also quite ironic

I think we'll agree to disagree. I simply don't think everyone is cut out for every single activity and frankly, across time there have always been the loners and the losers the those that simply don't fit in, and those that will take advantage of those people as well. I just don't think we're going to acclimate everyone, and definitely shouldn't change society to focus on the weakest links when the majority are still fine.

They're sad cases, certainly, but when a beta orbiter begs his way into a relationship and is convinced to kill himself, that's the exception. Most people are (arguably) fairly well adjusted. I do agree that they're seeking out attention through Twitch or YouTube or whatever it may be, but they're also ingratiating themselves to people with equal issues and need to have some level accountability rather than blaming everyone but themselves.

strangers occasionally saying mean things to you on the internet will not get you to kill yourself, period. i'm not saying it didn't play a role on his suicide and i'm not gonna pretend that someone who interacts with hundreds of people on the daily isn't negatively affected by whoever decides to be a dick at the wrong time, but this mass campaigning that puts cyber bullying as the top reason for why people commic suicide is the most both intellectually dishonest and damaging thing that has happened to mainstream internet since its inception. the guy had underlying mental conditions that often imply suicidal thoughts regardless of what the people sorrounding him do about it, he was a drug addict, and addicted to drugs that screw your brain BIG time no less, he was unable to get over a broken relationship, all the ingredients for suicide were all there even without all the internet bullying one sane person can handle. no, censoring mean words will not change shit, because those mean words meant shit to begin with.
but sure, be prepared for corporations to use this as an excuse to push internet censorship internet even harder than before, that will fix it.

Those are some of the most impressive run-on sentences I have ever seen.
Good job.
