Someone did a TL;DR overview of the exposé here:
So, she went from gobbling metaphorical dick to gobbling actual dick.LOL, so it seems like the huge fall out was with Dyess being anti political lesbianism, which she's right about since that sort of shit is promoting the idea that lesbianism is a choice. Then she went sucking the girl dique due to having a moment of sanity? Ok Amy. Can't wait for her to turn on the transbians when she realises that she'll actually need to gobble that dique to get acceptance from them.
“Gender critical” would be all fine and dandy if it just meant letting people express themselves the way they want without resorting to medical treatment for people who defy the stereotypes that come with their chromosomes and anatomy
I think what results in everybody talking past one another here is, partially, that word: "oppression".That is literally what gender critical means.
The fact that you get upset when women talk about their oppression or get upset with men who oppress and abuse them doesn't change the actual meaning of the term.

That term very heavily implies agency. You don't accidentally oppress someone, it's a state that requires active maintenance. But the vast majority of men don't wake up every day rubbing their hands and muttering to themselves about how they're going to oppress women today. Most people, men, women or demisexual Attack Helicopters, just don't care about the lives of others beyond their loved ones, and give very little thought to matters beyond their own little bubble.
If the conversation was less about "oppression" and more about "neglect" and "thoughtlessness", with "oppression" reserved to people with actual malicious intent, I think a lot more people would come meet in the middle. But those words aren't as snappy and zingy as "oppression". You can call someone an oppressor and immediately get a rise out of them. Doesn't work so well when you call them "neglectful" or "thoughtless".
As much as I 'voted' dumb on the previous comment, this one I completely agree with. The minute someone says 'I don't hate men/my guy treats me fine/etc.', all the loons come out of the woodwork telling them they have internalised misogyny. If that were the case a lot more people would be part of the “gender critical” movement, there are a shit ton of people who don’t kowtow to the currently trendy gender ideology, but conservatives, anti SJW types and people skeptical of the trans agenda for various reasons get bullied out of “gender critical” spaces for wrongthink.
Also there are plenty of women out there who don’t feel oppressed by all men, myself being one of them, and trying to convince people that your ideology will “save” them is no different to religious proselytism, or to stay on topic, grooming kids on tumblr into believing they’re demigender shark-kin.
Brennan looks like a Troon.

1. Not every feminist thinks life is a Manichean struggle between the sexes and your characterization of how unconscious bias occurs and its subsequent equivocation to fucking acid attacks shows that you very much believe it is.Oppression absolutely does not require conscious thought. The idea that no one oppresses anyone unless they're a Disney villain, rubbing their hands together while cackling madly and plotting how to oppress the minorities today is... absurd and utterly idiotic. Very few people would ever think to do that. But a great number of people engage in oppression without knowing they're doing it - for example, a man who refuses to hire women because he perceives women as "not as good at the job than men" automatically is engaging in the oppression of women, but I very highly doubt that he's thinking to himself "ah yes, I must oppress the women!" Men who refuse to vote for a woman for president because "she might launch nukes while she's PMSing" probably aren't doing it because they actively are thinking they want to oppress women, but the ideas they're using and the history of those stereotypes are part of women's oppression and what keeps women oppressed. And so on.
They don't get "bullied out... for wrongthink", they get told to leave if they're actively being bigoted shitheads. Or they choose to leave while claiming persecution because of the "evil man-haters" daring to talk about women's oppression, which is way more common than being told to get out.
A lot of women don't "feel oppressed by men". It's a very deeply ignorant and sheltered point of view that wholly ignores the experiences of women all over the world. Discrimination in STEM fields, common use of slurs, the absolutely ridiculously high rates of rape and abuse women are subjected to at the hands of men, the current trend towards eliminating women's spaces and the safety of women's shelters and prisons... and those are some of the "first world problems". Step outside that bubble and you get into FGM, sex-selective abortion, female infanticide, menstrual huts, complete lack of public toilets for women, women being burned with acid for rejecting men, women being straight up murdered for displeasing men or "dishonoring" their families, breast ironing... I could go on.
Comparing spreading awareness of societal misogyny and oppression of women to the gender bullshit is... really something though. Wow.
Anyway, this thread is... actually full of ridiculous levels of ignorant anti-feminist nonsense. I shouldn't be surprised but I am disappointed.

2. If you don't want to be called a cult, you probably shouldn't espouse cult doctrine and engage in blue-on-blue attacks for not being ideologically-pure enough. Do you want to accomplish your goals, or do you want to remain morally "pure"?
3. Fuck off, this isn't mumsnet or one of your other hugboxes. We embrace the full political/autism spectrum on the Farms. Passive-aggressively whining like an MRA about how "ignorant" we are isn't going to get you shit besides mockery. You want a bunch of your girlfriends to applaud how stunning and brave you are, go back to one of those sites and stay gone.
And before you accuse me of sexism for saying that: I say the same shit to incels and MRAs that turn up in threads about them to whine about how we're just ignorant cucks/feminists. Sexism would be me pulling my punches just because you have a vag.
You've come to the KiwiFarms of all places, specifically to a thread dedicated to making fun of radical feminists, and you expected thoughtful and enlightened discussion on feminism? That does not speak great things about your cognitive abilities, my friend.Anyway, this thread is... actually full of ridiculous levels of ignorant anti-feminist nonsense. I shouldn't be surprised but I am disappointed.
You sound like you can't actually address the content of my point, and so are just addressing the tone because people on social media sites think those two are the same. Once again: not Mumsnet. Either accept the Farms for what it is, fuck off, or get in line with all of the Nazis, tankies, incels, other TERFS, and schizos who think this site is the embodiment of human evil.Wow, you sound really angry. Did I upset you somehow by saying people often tell bigots to piss off and recognizing the oppression of women? Just... wow lmao.
"We"I think TERFs are confused about the nature of this site. We love the TE part but we hate the RF part.
But how does the site feel about TEFs?I think TERFs are confused about the nature of this site. We love the TE part but we hate the RF part.
