I get the many reasons why people stick around a place that no longer makes them happy, but it's always interesting to see the people who seem to have such clarity on just what's happened to Something Awful (and other places where this sort of thing has happened). For these two posters, SA collapsing into a heap would be the best thing because they wouldn't have that pull towards a place where they are undoubtedly hated for being able to see outside the hugbox, even if just temporarily.
Hey guys, this is on the SA front page:

If he's gonna do shit like this he might as well have taken the advice he got back when he signed up here. One wonders how that would have turned out, but it's hard to imagine worse.
"You guys are going to believe an alcoholic schizophrenic over me???"
Goons fetishize women and give them a free pass, which is why half of them want to become women.
You figured out exposure therapy and did the right thing for yourself.People have to get over shit that makes them uncomfortable. For convoluted reasons, there was a period of time that I was extremely uncomfortable with anything involving something eating something else, especially whole. During this same period of time, I was big into League of Legends and they had just released a character called Tahm Kench - a big catfish monster who swallowed things whole. I couldn't play the game at all during the first week he was out (new characters get played constantly when they're novel), but eventually said fuck it and bought him myself to play. I discovered very quickly his ability to pull enemies off fragile teammates ('peeling') jived very well with my playstyle and I adopted him as main role. It also helped enormously with not being made uncomfortable by that shit.
