I'm sorry, but are you fucking serious? I know it's impossible to A-Log Nick, but he deserves to be locked away for the rest of his natural life, not an execution. He's not Hitler or Ed Gein, he's a deranged coward.

Even if one thinks the shanking or beating comments of Nick Bate are extreme or a-loggy, he will get assaulted since as mentioned before, prisoners do not look highly upon child molesters and pedophiles. Him getting locked away instead of execution wouldn't mean he isn't gonna get executed by the system, not when there are other prisoners that would like him to meet the pointed end of a homemade knife.

Being alive in prison is often worse than the death sentence. The death sentence these days, however incompetently implemented it might be, is designed to be painless and humane. Prison is the closest a person can come to experiencing literal Hell.

Since there's a lot of speculation about what happens from here, I thought I'd weigh in:

There won't be a trial (and if there is a trial, the video "evidence" will not be admitted -- sorry to let everyone's hopes down, but I tell it like it is -- two weeks ago I was getting "optimistics" for saying he'd be arrested/committed in short order). He'll plead to the top count. Sentence of 10-15 years. After which PA already has provisions on the books that allow for his civil commitment.

And, unfortunately, U.S. prisons are (contrary to popular belief) pretty good at protecting pedoforks. Nick won't go out in a glorious blaze of shanks. He'll die forgotten and alone in a psych ward -- presumably due to some exotic oral infection.

You and everyone else who says he deserves to be put to death are being ridiculous. Death sentences in general are a debatable form of punishment at best, especially when it comes to people who are easily contained. Prison will be a worse punishment than death for Nick. He will be put in isolation and will be cut off from all contact to the outside world, including even the mere sight of children. He will have nothing, and it will break him, yet you want something more?

I doubt he'd be put in general population. Nick will most likely be put in solitary to prevent his inevitable death, and that is a fucking terrible place to be. He will wish for death, in the end.

Honestly, the news that Nick Bate is likely to face justice for his crimes could not come at a better time. For a long time now, Nick's been a classic example of how the system can be gamed - Nick's litany of misdeeds have been widely-known for years, but with his parents protecting him by keeping him locked up and Nick knowing how to at least partially keep his shit together around law enforcement, it looked, for a while, like he might have been able to coast from there on out, even with what he did to his sister, the constant stalking of Anna, and the periodic psychotic outbursts.

But then something amazing happened.

His sister would not be silenced. Can you imagine the courage this girl has? Even with her parents openly trying to defend Nick, she still pushed things until no amount of defense by Nick's caretakers would stop the inevitable. It's thanks to her that Nick - one of the rare cases of someone we've covered who is a danger to other people - now faces a prison sentence.

That kid is a fucking badass, and I would buy her an ice cream.

I once read Ozzy Osbourne's autobiography where he spoke about his experiences as an inmate in prison. There was a pedophile who was caught fucking his own daughter in Osbourne's story; he would get the shit kicked out of him so often that he resorted to smearing his cell with shit and piss and refused to leave the cell. Osbourne was working at the cafeteria at the time and the guards told him and another cafeteria worker to go and clean up the filth and drag the pedophile out of the cell for them. Generally, it makes little difference.

There is actually a reasonable possibility that he refuses a plea. A prosecutor, with this case, would be very inclined to push it to the max. A piece of shit like Nick really deserves to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And it is basically impossible to lose a case like this.

What Nick faces is basically life. Regardless of the actual term of the offenses he's charged with.

He's going to be a sex offender for life, and probably civilly committed even after his term.

So he has some incentive to insist on an actual trial, even though he'll probably fare poorly in that.

I still hope someone stomps him to death. I'm not speaking as a lawyer there, just as a human.
