The art is not bad per se, it's the text that bothers me. This person also said something along the lines of "whenever I see female and male art tips it makes it seem like they are different species". (I won't go back for the exact quote, cause I'm lazy but there is the artist's name on the art so if you are curious look it up.)

1.) There is a separation between male and female bodies when you look at things such as the difference in bone structure between men and women. Sure, you can ignore some of this stuff if you are drawing things in a very exaggerated cartoon-y style but when it comes to realistic or semi-realistic styles, it's not advised to ignore such differences.

2.) That last part sounds dumb. Gender might be a construct and doesn't determine your body type but biological sex does. Before you start playing with shapes learn basic anatomy and don't just blindly rush into things. That last part is a really bad advice for young or newbie artists.

What really gets to me is the quotation marks around male and female; as if to suggest that there’s no biological sex at all, let alone sexual dimorphism on humans.

She also seems to be confusing the concept of biological differences with the illustrated design shorthand regardless. Sure, you can make characters with any shape other than the "inverted triangle or rectangle for men, hourglass or pear for women" but that won’t change the fact that certain physical attributes like the hip-to-shoulder ratio will inevitably be read as male or female regardless what you tell your audience.

How much do you wanna bet she throws a hissy fit if someone uses the wrong pronouns on a "non-gendered body type" character?

They're actually extremely sexist. They say you can wear whatever you want without judgment, but if you dare wear clothes that don't match your gender, you're either a beloved trans or a dirty filthy crossdresser.
Crossdressing and being trans are two different things, when will these far-left sjws get that through their heads? Oh wait, probably never...Because they're hardheaded.
As much as I dislike the “uwu crossdresser” trope. I can agree with you firmly. There is a difference! It’s a shame too, they’re practically erasing one thing while bringing attention to something else. It’s shameful.
It’s like censoring straight people, what’s the point?

Really sorry any of the drawings have been posted before.
OK obviously the police need reforming BUT getting rid of the police and prisons all together is fucking crazy there are psychos, killers, rapists, pedos and they want them to be free to roam around and do whatever the fuck they want REALLY???, they do realize without the police they're fucked too do they really think that dangerous people won't come after them? plus the rich people that they hate so much will just hire private security it's already happening now, and what about the poor people who can't afford guns who is going to protect them? and you know all those anti-discrimination laws who's going to enforce them?

I'm sorry for power-leveling it's just this whole no cops thing is giving me a migraine

"Break gender roles!"
"Hey I'm a guy who likes wearing dresses"
"UWU TRANS GIRL"

thank god someone is talking about this. this tutorial is so counterproductive and focuses on being woke instead of actually trying to help artists. i saw someone in the replies say they draw the character first and decide the gender later.. imagine being so ignorant of basic art shit for the sake of this garbage :story:

To be fair I do that sort of stuff especially when I'm sketching to relax. I start with head and basic pose kinda go from there. At start most my charcters are pretty much just sicks and circles so not knowing gender of that blob isn't unreasonable. That to said stuff like age, weight, mood and yes gender do get decided on pretty early. I might change some later on but you kinda need those to really get going.

It begins.
I like how they bitch about capitalism while begging for money on a massive privately owned platform.

Also, do they even have a demo or anything? Why would anyone bother funding this without that?

This is the top tier of donation and while I ain't the kind of person to crowdfund stuff, it really doesn't look like much for spending a whole grand. Only things extra you get is a random background sprite of your shitty oc and a half assed thank you note.

43% goes towards those fucking stickers and postcards. God help us.

Yeah when you go from tier to tier the rewards really do not match the monetary value. Like you can pay 50 extra dollars to get a T-shirt if you pay over 250+ (since the rewards list is the same as the 200 one minus said T-shirt). Also you have to pay way too much to have your name in the credits, usually other game kickstarters have that shit in the 1 dollar tier lol.

We have a thread for this.

Also, who would willingly pay a thousand dollars just to see their character be drawn among unfuckable blobs who speak primarily in text? If someone does, one can only hope their character's white, seeing as that's one of their stretch goals.

To the people who actually paid money for this garbage? You could have gotten food with that.
