This post is gonna be radioactively gay, you've been warned.
I started playing WoW with my niece recently and a few days ago I'm sitting in trade chat and see something cross my eyes. Some guy is telling people not to buy shit from a 'Goon Squad' on Stormrage server because they're scamming people. Apparently they moved from Eve Online to WoW awhile back and have been selling services in the game like taking your character through raid content and giving you the loot that drops. Only this guy/girl was saying shit like how they were purposely hiding loot from the buyers so that they could keep it themselves. The whole guild invaded trade chat to go after this guy with the guild leader named Connxr, real life name Connor (I'm assuming since all of his characters are named a derivative of that in game), calling the guy a liar, etc.
The story is, from what I gathered following this dumb shit in trade chat is that this person gave them 750,000 gold (a couple hundred dollars in real life) for all the loot that dropped. Goon Squad / Connor started playing games by not looting the bosses of items that they wanted to keep, which apparently the game will then mail to the character thinking they just forgot it, which leaves no record of it that the buyer could see. So when Connor himself kept an item the guy contacted Connor telling him something fishy was going on and Connor said he'd refund the guy after the raid, then just disappeared with no refund.
The guy/girl waited about a week waiting for the refund before doing anything, no refund came so he took it to trade chat and blasted the guild. I can only assume the guy/girl is an autistic savant faggot or a criminal conspiracy lawyer because they put on a masterful performance of pretending they couldn't prove anything at first, so Connor felt like he could just say whatever he wanted and brush it off to the server / guild.
First it was that none of that ever happened, Connxr never kept loot, the guy never told him there was a problem and there was never talk of any refund. The next day the guy showed up with proof there was but saying he didn't have anymore proof to offer.
Then his story changed to 'oh yeah I forgot I kept a sword, we talked about a refund but then I gave it to him immediately'. The guy showed up with more proof, again saying it was the last he had and he hopes people believes him.
Then their story changed to 'oh yeah I forgot it was after the raid was over that I gave him the refund'. Again, he guy just happened to just totally accidentally realize he had proof disproving that, too.
Then, finally, on the 500th permutation of their story they caught on to what he was doing and just decided to say 'oh yeah I forgot to actually send it to him, my bad it was just an honest mistake but I'm not going to send it to him NOW because he's been attacking us!'.
Through every story change the server kept turning on them more and more, now it's at the point where you can just go into trade chat and say their name and someone is going to almost always respond with 'they're scammers'. Supposedly, I haven't seen proof of this but since the guy proved everything else I have no reason to not believe him, Connor is threatening to get him banned from the game if he doesn't stop telling people about it.
Yes, I'm terminally gay for playing an MMO, Just a small world when you're trying to see Night Elf tits dancing on mailboxes and come across communist LARPing goons proving what would actually happen if their faggoty dream ever came to actual fruition.
