Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

So a democrat can cancel the other party's convention?

Seems like something that would dominate the news cycle with accusations of fascism, collusion, oppression/suppression and destruction of our entire democracy if the letters were reversed.

Betting this just leads to a lot of smug gloating, though. What with that whole "complete lack of principle" thing.

I have to hand it to the Regressive Left: I never thought I'd miss the Fundies.
I sure as hell don't. Those assholes are a massive part of the reason why we're in this mess in the first place since a lot of the people that make up the Regressive Left today are their shitcorn kids that took their teenage rebellion way too far for way too long. I repeat Razorfist's quote on this lot once again in that they ran so hard from their parents that they became them on crack.

"Haha Trump's rally was pathetic, no one showed up."
"Oh my God Trump's rally caused a new outbreak."

Guys, you really have to pick one. Also, did anything else happen in Tulsa, that same week? Anything at all?

Does this even register enough for normies to have cognitive dissonance about it? Even the intelligent people I know are sleeping it up with all this.

I suppose that is different, and I'm not sure if I know how I feel. On one hand, it could be argued that the liberation of homosexuality in catholic seminary lead to the influx of sexual assault and molestation with the catholic priesthood and I don't want to see something similar happen with the Methodist church.

I mean that's what happened to the boy scouts.

Well I wouldn't be that surprised to see people here not know who these people are anymore at this point (then again, most people have forgotten about the Westboro Baptist Church now that their numbers have severely dwindled and we don't hear that much from them anymore).

The only reason why Christianity still gets mocked a lot is because the memory of the religious fundamentalism that would went on in the 1980's and in the 1990's is still there somewhat.

Now obviously people such as Kenneth Copeland or Jim Bakker will scream 'Literately Who' to younger audiences but here is a history lesson for those that don't really know who these old clowns are.

So Kenneth Copeland is one of those old boomer televangelist preachers that would preach the so called 'Prosperity Gospel' (which basically preaches that if you give God your money then he will reward you later on).

Now not to sound mean but this guy doesn't look human and if there is anything that would convince me that the Reptilian conspiracy theory is real then it would be Kenneth Copeland, just look at his eyes because they don't look human.

Then there is Jim Bakker. He used to be very big back in the 1980's and was a household name in televangelism. He was also obsessed with Walt Disney and created his own Christian theme park called 'Heritage USA' at the expense of his donors. The IRS would eventually bust him for fraud and he was then originally sentenced to 45 years in prison but then his sentence would be reduced to only 8 years in prison later on. He still does televangelism but now he sells overpriced prepper equipment where he sells these end of the world buckets with food in them.

If you ask me, if you want to become a prepper then you're better off getting your stuff from a military surplus store anyway.

As for the Pokemon thing, that was from an infamous clip where this old geezer preached about how Pokemon is Satan (this was from the time when the religious-right was at their peak) and Satan is 'controlling' kids because they played Pokemon (stupid, I know).

Now mind you, this stuff that I'm presenting to you is from a bygone era when the religious right used to have a lot of power and influence at their peak.

The two stories that get thrown in my face are the parents that didn't let their kids play pokemon and the parents that didn't let their kids read harry potter and the funny thing is they had a point but failed.

I gaurantee you if we didn't have pokemon we wouldn't have digimon and without that 1-2 punch furries would be almost non existent in the U.S. Also their was a legitimate complaint that kadabra had a pentagram on it's head and it was removed not because of the christians but because of the magician that kadabras japanese name is based off of. It's also funny because proto SJW's did more to damage pokemon than anything else since they actually got them to change Baba yaga... I mean Jinx's skin, well it was void in the original game, color to purple.

As for harry potter, I say it as a joke but considering how many people cite it for creating their political beliefs or how many times "dumbledores Army" pops up In protest I don't think the Christians were wrong also they never got harry potter pulled, most schools had them as optional books in their reading programs and the best the parents could do was stop their kids from reading a shitty children's series.

The issue is the christians havent had power since the 60's, 70's if you want to stretch the definition of power, all they did was complain but they never sucesfully shut down a concert, a show, a band or frankly stopped anyhting. The best they could do was complain and have the media make a bunch of picket holders appear to be an angry mob that was trying to lynch celebrity X. Even if they pendulum swung back the christians are so nuetered they wouldn't know what to do with their new found momentum.

The last time Christians had power was when the Catholics forced Hollywood to put in the cinema code to stop pornography, nonsexual underage nudity, and anti-Christian themes from being shown in theaters. That was in the 30s.

Solid disagree there my dude. Let me tell about a little show called "Tiny Toon Adventures"....

I believe what you mean to say is that those parents early on recognized the transphobia seeping from JK H.H. Rowlings work. They were simply hipster-like avante gardes into hating it before it was cool.

But serious note...
So for a time of my life I was raised in one of the Witches are real, and are serious THREAT FROM SATAN denominations. None of the people in that church ever got the concept of "Its ok if your kids like fiction with WICKED ELEMENTS, as long as you control the exposure. Give them context with what they're consuming." Because if they did, they quickly found another church.

But look, some of them are really halfassedly wearing masks that don't even cover their noses and they're fighting racism so that actually means they're slowing coronavirus, unlike those Science-denying Drumpfs!

There wasn't anything wrong with consuming Harry Potter or Pokemon or Digimon as a child. HP was a pretty solid series (has been a while since I've read the series but I have fond memories) and it got children to actually pick up a book and enjoy reading. Digimon was based and built upon the virtual pet craze and pokemon was something from my own childhood that I got to share with my children when they were young seeing as the formula for the franchise hasn't changed much in 20-approaching-30 years.

The issue is when people take these pillars of childhood and try to absorb them into their personality because their parents never taught them to enjoy things in moderation.

Just think, in another timeline, the left became obsessed with Piers Anthony's Xanth.

  • The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered split opinions in two cases over whether President Donald Trump can shield his tax records from investigators, handing a win to the Manhattan district attorney but rejecting parallel efforts by Democrats in the House of Representatives.
  • Both cases were decided 7-2, with Chief Justice John Roberts authoring the court’s opinion and joined in the majority by Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch. Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented in both cases.

Was the Maddow "tax return" blunder just a prelude of the time they're going to waste on this new bombshell? Are the walls finally closing in?!

Y'know if the right was really so full of violent, evil bigots just looking for an excuse to slaughter and slay with our murderdeathkill machines, you'd think the left would be less eager to piss us off and see us "melt down".
Ones more violent than another. Another is more reserved than the one.

Both just as dangerous.
