I actually have a hard time understanding how people are content to live in filth in the first place. If my living space isn't clean I go absolutely bonkers, like when I lived in dorms I spent many a sleepless night tidying my maybe 7' by 7' room. Granted I know crawling around on your hands and knees getting rid of fuzz in your carpet with strips of duct tape at 4am is a pretty far cry from normal, but ya get the picture. If things get messy my mental health gets worse, so I get on that and clean whenever I'm able. I might be a bit disorganized, but at least any mess I have is clean mess.
Meanwhile some people I know will just leave dirty dishes and laundry and food wrappers strewn about their rooms without a single clean place to step. I have no idea how they manage.

In fairness, feelings of emptiness and disturbances in identity and sense of self are, IIRC, some of the diagnostic criteria for BPD. They're definitely common symptoms, at the very least.
That still doesn't mean any of what the OP is saying is even remotely reasonable, and it definitely doesn't mean their coping mechanisms aren't maladaptive to the extreme.

Virgin, probably. I've seen one instance in a fandom where they lost their shit at a fictional character being called a virgin by their younger sibling (in which the character took no offense to that at all). The fans screamed that the author/artist is acephobic and eventually drove her off of Tumblr. For her sake, it was for the best.

If we judged those in the past by our moral standards and refused to ackowledge them because of it, we'd have no history to speak of. History is all about evolving and looking for the right balance of traits, Gandhi may have not done this in other areas but he did in this area. It's sad to see a wealth of knowledge be shunned by people who put the bad before the good.
