Apparently, this is the new Lovesick protag
I can't find any indication this is the case on the Discord server.
They've not added anything new to their Preview channel, and can't find anything regarding it in the chats.
Where did you get this?

Edit: Looked a little harder. Didn't expect to see it pinned in the fan art channel, of all places? You'd think something major like the established design of a main character for your game would be officially announced.

I'm not sure if it's the actual protag. I mean yeah one of the admins posted it but it really doesn't prove if this is confirmed.

Fuck, I just wish we had the right version of this song.

I know, I know I've fucked things up
I've been a shitty game dev
I thought that I could code like no one else
But now, through all the lols and raids
It's time for me to respect
The ones you shame mean more than anything
With Osana still on hold
I feel the best thing I could do
Is shoot a vid and blame some gremlins
Patrons go down, how can it be?
What once was sandbox now is shit
I'll never code again, my scam is ending...
I wish, I stay with Build that time
Cos now the blame is all mine
Can't live without the funds from those you scam
I know, they dug up all my past
The past that I've tried to hide
Because of that it's killing me inside
IF all returns to nothing, THEN all comes
Tumbling down
Tumbling down
Tumbling down
IF all returns to nothing, ELSE I just keep
Letting me down
Letting me down
Letting me down
In my heart of hearts
I know that I could never code again
I've lost everything
Everything
Everything that matters to me, even my Real doll!

I saw this too, it's in their fanart channel, there also already fanart for the character itself and it looks really nice. View attachment 1442403
Damn that looks cute as hell. Way more memorable than a bland girl with a black ponytail and a permanent o.o face

Oh god which one of you guys is this? Literal furry youtube channel name and avatar.

This has been bothering me for so long now.

The whole "The game is HALF HITMAN, HALF PERSONA" Argument doesn't really make sense to me now that I gave it more than just 10 seconds of thought.

The whole point of Persona is it's two halves of very different games. It's half VN/Social life sim etc, half dungeon crawler RPG. Both have very rich depth.

I haven't played a single hitman game, but calling the game HALF persona in the first place is not only goofy as fuck in this context, but also hyperbolic. Nothing in the yansim has any of the depth or quality the Persona games carry.

If anything I'd argue that by this logic that the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons series is half persona, half farming simulator, and it isn't too much of a stretch.

And guess what? Something like that WAS made. It's called Stardew Valley. Made by one person, in four years, universally beloved. It might be a bitch of a stretch, but is it really? I hate all of his excuses, but this one feels like the worst strawman. We do have a frame of reference. Saying nothing like this has ever been done at this scale is IMHO factually indefensible. Everyone who's played Harvest Moon style games, by extension Stardew Valley, can tell you how in-depth both sides of the game are. SD valley is still in my backlog of "Games I buy in steam sales and never play" but if it's anything even comparable to like, launch title gamecube Harvest Moon, then you have stuff akimbo to seed cross-breeding and long social simulator aspects where you interact with the cast in interactions spanning years to gain better farming tools, pets, etc. You, even have different kinds of children who you can shape their personalities by encouraging their current interests or swaying them to others.

I haven't gotten around to playing specifically Stardew Valley, but if public opinion and word of mouth from everyone I've ever spoken to/heard discuss it are to be believed then there is no way at all that Yandere Sim is nearly as close to fleshed out as SD valley in the depth of the mechanics. If it carries the same charm as Harvest Moon then surely it's at least more fleshed out than Yansim and a comparable comparison to make given how deep both games go for these two separate systems.

TL;DR Yandev saying yandere sim is half persona half hitman, is a strawman if not an absolute fucking meme. Stardew Valley is Half Persona Half Farming Simulator by that exact logic, and was in fact done by one person in much less time.

This is either his way of telling "look at me, I'm a serious game developer, who creates Persona and Hitman at the same time" or just an excuse to make this abortion of a game even for longer period of time. Probably, both.

I'm following the lovesick server from afar.
It seems like they're removing the assets they ripped from him and progress seems relatively fast (last i heard they completed at least one floor of the new school).
He's gonna get really mad once all of them are out of the game and he has no more room for a lawsuit, hence why he wishes to take action as soon as he can.
In the rare event that Alex's lolsuit is upheld and actually goes to court, it will be one of the most pathetic and embarrassing cases the U.S. justice system has ever faced. How would he pay for lawyers anyway? E-beg to his few remaining paypigs?

Not in reality where Maddox and his lolsuit exist.

IANAL but I'd say Alex might have more of a fighting chance in court than people give him credit for. We're talking about a project in direct competition to him, using a name and logo he previously fielded as a title to his game, using his assets in its promotional material, a server that discusses which of his features they'll be adding next and clear damage to his image and property with everyone saying 'they made it in 2 weeks, Alex is a bad programmer and YanSim is a bad product.'

Alex may not own the game concept, but when you're actively talking about ripping specific features in a game that is so directly opposed to its source material, there's probably at least enough to warrant a serious discussion with a lawyer.
