TBF the fucking Bogan part was like the final snowflake that caused the avalanche. Lowtax had been fucking up his life for a long time, like abusing his wife and flying cross country to cheat on her for a whole month while she watches their todler.

You're partly right, but I think at this point its the building evidence.

Again, of all the people to accuse Lowtax of abuse, Bogan is the least believable. Maplewife had multiple police reports, was in a DV shelter, and Lowtax came in with his side piece pretty much admitting she was the future ex-Mrs Lowtax, and goons barely batted an eye.

But this #3. Even if Bogan is 100% lying and Lowtax was nothing but a caring boss & lover, there's a fucking trend. I'd like to have seen him skewered for sshit he deserved it for, but I'll take the fireworks where I can gets them.

logan is crazy and has a history of bad behaviour is not the airtight defense against domestic violence allegiations that lowtax is hoping it is.

it's also possible that lowtax has failed to consider the possibility that the reason people believed logan is not that logan is a reliable witness but that lowtax is a demonstrably unreliable, dishonest fraudster.

Isn't it more likely Lowtax gets a regular cheque and not a single payout for SA? I doubt Jeffrey has that much capital kicking around and long-term private welfare for no responsibility would probably appeal to Lowtax since he clearly doesn't want to work ever again. It'd also explain why he's suddenly so willing to give it all up when he has fuck-all to fall back on.

If he did get a lump sum it would spell hilarity since he'll blow it all and have literally nothing.

What bothers me is that the site is being sold to a staff member who took a direct part in turning the community against Richard and was telling everybody to get ready to flee the site, and was regularly updating the users on the status of negotiations with a tone of "if this falls through, i'll let you know so you can resume the riots."

There's very good reason to suspect that Jeffrey has been colluding with Logan and the staff to sabotage the goodwill of Something Awful in order to drive down the company's price as much as possible. In addition, Jeffrey is in an excellent position to threaten to destroy the entire company if it is not sold at a bargain price. Since goons lack any rules of engagement when they set out to fuck with people online or in real life, this is extremely plausible.

That was the entire point of all the faux outrage. Almost none of the mods, sickos that they are, actually care about any of this. They just saw an opportunity for a e-fame power grab and took it. I can think of literally one mod who actually cares.

If they actually cared, why are the higher-ups with red stars or better who covered up the Ashli police reports, like Renee, immune from the cancellation despite widespread mockery for saying they're only being criticized because they're queer?

You say that like pushing the value of Something Awful as close to $0 as possible isn't the financially and morally correct thing to do since that's what it's worth.

I think there's just as much chance Jeffrey overpaid for SA due to an emotional attachment and sunk costs as there is that he drove a hard bargain.
