Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

Going back to Liam's artist getting poached. I hope he plays his cards smarter than Ritter. I mean Ritter got paid what? 5-15k while Frog raked in hundreds of thousands if not a million+ dollars from all those variant campaigns? If I was going to work with Frog, I would want a % of all campaigns that uses my coloring or work in addition to being paid up front..

He'll pay you in ribbit coins and dox your PayPal information.

if that’s the case, then I don’t think you would find very many big name Independant guys to work with you. Who would actually do that? The colorist, artist, whatever sets their price up front and if the creator agrees with it he pays. I mean that’s like you contracting me to erect a building for your business and then you proceed to make millions from said business. Should I be getting a percentage of that, in addition to what you paid me? Being a colorist is Kyle’s job and right now he has steady work due to Ethan other CGers and isn’t hurting for money. Doing something like that would hurt his business. Plus we really don’t know what Ethan paid Kyle other than the extra ten grand he got when Rekt Planet met a stretch goal.

Kyle Ritter is the guy who, despite being a complete unknown, commands one of the highest rates for a colorist job in the industry with his work on Cyberfrog, while also raising $164,000 for his own IP Starblades despite having zero marketing ability of his own due to his disability, right? Yes, he was really hard done by from his association with Frog.

Although Frog has asked if Odysseus is in an exclusive contract with Liam (he was until recently), and has expressed an interest in "American Manga" under ALL CAPS publishing, I'd be more inclined to believe it if Frog had ever "poached" anyone in the past and that this wasn't such an easy button to manipulate Liam with that, after enough wormtonguing, he's claiming that Nasser has attempted to "poach" his employer Joseph White.

As it is, I err towards believing Frog asked out of veiled concern for Liam or, more cynically, does not intend on an impressive prospect like Ody leaving Comicsgate in the face of unscrupulous creators or Liam leaving.

I am not now offering, nor have I ever tried to offer Ody work. He's great, but I don't have anything for him to do. If I did, I wouldn't hesitate to make the offer, because freelancers need high paying jobs.

"Poaching" isn't a thing. Talented people are in high demand, and that means bids for their work should be competitive. I think they'd like to hear the offers.

I will say that putting someone under an exclusive contract without giving them an abundance of work to fill their days isn't right. It doesn't make any sense.

But again, this all stems from Liam's paranoia and people exploiting it for laughs.

I have three jobs.

Caanan White is doing FEARSOME when he finishes his other obligations

I found an illustrator for the CyberFrog children's story.

I'm pretty sure I've got the illustrator for American Manga. It isn't Ody. He's a regular on my livestreams.

Good luck. Literally no one will hire you.

CYBERFROG is my IP. I pay the people who work on it better than mainstream rates, and I pay them IMMEDIATELY upon my satisfaction with the work via paypal. You won't find that situation anywhere else.

Sometimes I pay bonuses. Kyle got $10,000 cash for BLOODHONEY and again for REKT PLANET, because I like his work and he deserves it.

People, especially colorists, who want percentages and to share in the profits of characters and stories that they didn't create and do not own aren't going to find a home in the mainstream or the independents. You get work-for-hire or you create your own thing, which Kyle did.

From memory, I think your colorists have spoken highly of you, except for Moose.

Oh, while I'm thinking of it, ice burn on Dan Shahin. It was a highlight in an otherwise terrible stream. Might be one of your worst.

So, a terrible CG killstream.

Oz needs to get better weirdos. Bullying twitless, who admits he's another thirsty wannabe with a high pitched voice, is fun for a little bit. I blame Frog. I don't know why but he's usually at fault.

Richard continues to review comics in between editorial reviews. He's mostly run out of gas. He's more excited by his own projects than a mainstream he no longer respects and that has gone from an ironically funny parody of itself to mostly just a sad one.

CG Satan Axel Alonso appeared on Dan shaheen's channel. Axel brought such gems as Ms. Marvel and America during his time as EIC. He starts about his EIC time at 40:48. He immediately plays politics, bringing up Miles and mentioning criticism specifically from Fox News and Sean Hannity. Muh racism. 41:28.

He then argues that Cap Falcon sold same as Steve Rodgers and that Female Thor sold better.

Others have covered that this isn't necessarily true. That Axel over shipped and cut corners in order to make more money of an inferior product. The fact is that once gimmicks died down these characters don't sell, at all. Dan just nods like a dumbass.

Axel has zero self awareness, he refuses to acknowledge that he killed Marvels hottest IPs outside of a handful of titles.

Oh, Dan's also interviewing Noah Van Sciver July 14.

LOLsuit incoming.
Apparently SJW's aren't happy about their whisper network getting "Melissa morgued" so they are assmad and threatening to sue.
Let's see how this plays out.

LOL! Discovery will be fun.
The moment they start the suit, I will publish emails I received from few of them in which they say stuff like "white people are evil" by currently up and coming authresses.
(I clearly won't be doing it now, because I don't have patience for being beaten to death by their tweets and I do think they are all idiots not worth the hassle, because in few short years they will eat themselves alive. It's already happening.)

And about the whisper network- they don't see it as such, but more like a girls supporting girls in the industry, but it makes so much sense. It's hard to prove and I'm not insane enough to comb through bajilion of twitts, but there has been a pattern where new topic would show up or new vocabulary was used by multiple people at the same time and it was clear they were talking together. Always same people promoting other people and I was honestly surprised how they were able to get money on kickstarter if they never had a proper ad campaign including actual authors with actual following. During few anthologies campaigns I took part in I had to beg for or even make a promo image, because it was not given. But others from the group would always promo it.

But it won't work for much longer, as they pretty much got rid of people with talent that actually were customers bait. Now they are going to have to eat their own and I'm here for it.

Small things coming together, I guess.

I don't think Preston even cares about Comic books
He openly said he doesn't multiple times, He sees CBs as a way to put to use scripts he won't be able to turn into movies. And you know, minus the cringe, the cuck porn and the general boredom of his work, I can agree with the basic idea of "don't treat cbs like some God's gift to humanity" way more than CG's faggy vomit about "Respect/Code of ethics and character love". After all the industry was always at it's best when people who treated it like just another business and weren't dazzled by lore or cultural artsy-fartsy impact were in control. (See The British Invasion and Jim Shooter).

Eh. He never had much to say anyway. He should legit unironically buy something nice for Gabby and for that guy who came up with the Splatto joke, because without them he would never be able to be entertaining.

Zack also has a movie review channel under the alt Splatto Del Gato. This might've been common knowledge but I didn't know until one of them randomly appeared in my feed.

He'll watch a single movie in bits over a month or two and then tell us whether its any good. Or he'll review a movie he saw 15 years ago. Sometimes it seems like he never even bothered watching the movie he's reviewing. Zack don't care.

Sometimes drunk CG counsel, Nick Rekieta, weighed in on this harpy's threat:
20200712_080102.jpg20200712_080122.jpg20200712_080141.jpg20200712_080158.jpg
But I'm sure Bleeding Fool is happy for the free publicity from all these screeching feminazis. @FROG tweeted there'd be more revelations on Tuesday.

Probably nothing changes because of it, but it's fun to see all these bitches melting down over being exposed.

I don't know if it's "poaching" but there's no way Ethan can draw a children's book. It's just not his style. Children's books are huge money makers because they are so cheap to produce but I seriously doubt many parents want to read their kids a story written or produced by the behind the pizza place "daddy can't rape us all" guy. Plus he sells his art at 1k per page, no way a kids book OA commands that price point. It would be way cheaper and easier to hire it out.

Then again cuckold and anti-SJW bogeyman hunter TUG can sell a children's comic to adults and manages to sell a 6 year old girls "commissions" to grown men so who knows.

thank goodness for Nasser. It took a mental retard to destroy comicsgate from the inside. He has single handedly done more damage to CG than all of the trolls and anti-CGers combined. Godspeed :semperfidelis:

The whisper network of comics bitches has been creating blacklists for years. They love to issue low key threats by saying "comics is a small community and we talk" but companies known for not paying people on time and buttfucking creators still have big names lining up to work with them so they don't do a very good job of communicating useful information. It's mostly an intimidation network "if you support Trump we'll smear you".

Comics shops putting "warnings" on books is fucking dumb. You could put warnings on almost any creator or company for a variety of reasons. If the shop feels that strongly about it why carry the book at all? Just don't sell it. Pull it from the shelf. Don't order any copies from Diamond. Any of those would be easier options. It makes no sense to run a business and tell people not to buy products you sell.
Yikes 1k per page how much for a cover since they all have to have a evs cover? Just curious

Thats just what he sells the interior pages to customers for. My guess is to commission a cover from him would cost around 1k also. Somewhere in this thread he claims he did the CG cover artwork for people for free and he also didn't charge Jordan Peterson for the pages he drew for that book.

I don't think EVS really does commissions anymore. The last time he did was early 2018 I think he charged $400 for a single character.

Not unreasonable pricing. He doesnt appear to be out to screw anyone with oppressive pricing but he doesn't do much concept art for commercial work either.

I don't know how much he sold the original covers for you'd have to ask him. My guess is it was a private deal so we may never know for sure.
Ro posed naked with the EVS cover of Vestige #1 and like I said I'm pretty sure he did that at no charge.
Nasser might be able to tell us if he was charged for the EVS trading card that was done for his book and if he got the original art for it.

Ethan did the card for free. I tried to buy the original art, but he sold it one night on Mike's auction while I was asleep. I think Dennis Paruch won it.

The over the top sperg out reactions to his videos from the usual suspects eighteen months to two years ago was kind of half the fun, at least, wasn't it? 🤔

Its weird how this guy was apparently an attorney for 16 years and yet somehow got almost everything about defamation law incorrect. Either he's lying to try to scare the Bleeding Fool into taking down the article (likely), or he's an incompetent attorney who started in corporate law but built such a bad reputation in the community that he wound up stuck in a research position and then, eventually, being paid peanuts to work for a non-profit (my guess).

edit: for those who don't know, "solo practitioner" is lawyer-speak for "unemployed." Reading Sydney's resume on Linkdin tells you everything you need to know about him. Starts off successful, and after seven years his legal career takes a MASSIVE downward trajectory ending with him being a "solo practitioner" for three years, holding another job for four months, and then ending up doing bitch work for a big discovery firm.
