it's not even that Wick-Phillips had the benefit of a tcpa 'expert'. on top of that, they billed multiple hours supposedly for other people to read up on tcpa case law despite having a tcpa 'expert' handling the case. they wanted Chupp to believe that as a lawfirm they are so grossly incompetent at managing their available resources that they put their tcpa expert on the case but then had other people study what he supposedly already knew from the start.

I think it's a little of this and a little of that.
Unnecessary and mishandled filings and actions on their own behalf and then charging for "work" unrelated to not just the TCPA but the case as a whole.

the only other alternative, of course, is that they inflated their bill more than wheezy mcdeadlungs inflates his rubber girlfriend every weekend.

True, the wording used against Jamie's lawyer makes me think there's some attriction between defendants, hope this turn all of them against each other, as while they're single parties on their own they have worked together until now to fight Vic and still didn't do a very good job at it. I have no sense of scale for how slow an appeals court goes, but 2021 seems a little pessimistic. I see "Case ready to be set" on 6-19-2020. Assuming no forthcoming papers, I think oral arguments sometime in September sounds realistic, considering that this is ostensibly on an accelerated track. After that, maybe a month or two for the final decision to be rendered, so call it November.

Can you imagine what kind of salt will be unleashed if Vic receives a favorable appeal and our cheddar-dusted president gets reelected?
