Just on this issue, it's not even lazy women or muh sex differences. It's a complex issue; for one thing, men just gravitate toward more lucrative degrees than women, and men are more likely to assertively negotiate their salary.

Are there instances of women being lazy/stupid or male managers being sexist? Of course. But there's far more nuance to the issue than progressive idiocy vs reactionary idiocy.

It isn't really laziness, women are more often that not prioritized to want different things out of life. Each decision you make has a consequence. There's nothing wrong with wanting to work just 9-5, or even less. if you are still filling your life with work that is meaningful to you, that's got value.

Of course, you can't expect to be a multimillionare that way, but not everyone needs to be or will even find personal satisfaction that way. You can do you, but there's consequences to those choices.

Hell, even a"lazy" life if you keep enough up to take care of yourself isn't immoral.

Which are sex differences. But even equalizing for that, women tend to take more vacations, tend to drop out of the workplace to have kids, tend to not work overtime, etc etc.

There’s very little outright sexism at work these days (there used to be, but not now.) The main two reasons are:
1. that women tend to gravitate towards a set of jobs and those jobs tend to be lower paid. Now you can argue that either way, that those jobs would be regarded better if men did them, but that preference is voluntary - nonone is forcing women into those careers.
2. children. Women fall behind when they’re in that early few years of having kids because biologically, they have to gestate and birth them, they are more likely to take more parental leave etc. It’s almost impossible to have two demanding jobs and raise kids without help of some type or one of you reducing hours, Whether that help is a nanny or childcare or family, it’s still needed of you both work long hours. So women tend to fall behind then.
The problem we’ve created is needing two wages to live on and devaluing stay at home mothers and traditional family structures. Again no one is forcing men not to go part time, but I’ll bet you all know way more mothers who are sahm/go part time etc than fathers. This tends to happen during those late 20s-very early 40s age range where people make big career strides.
Anyway, the issue isn’t nasty sexist men denying women promotion, nor is it women being thick. It’s just reproductive biology meeting the western work system. I’m not sure what you can about it tbh, or if it’s even a genuine issue. Two people of different sex and same experience hired for the same job should be hired on the same money, but most places already do that and there’s legal recourse to sex discrimination now.

The issue being that, Antifa's opening gambit was "seize territory and secede from the union." How do you escalate from that while maintaining your media shield? At some point AntiFa would be revealed to be the aggressor instead of perpetual victims.

The mayor of Portland and the Governor already blew their wad in a previously prepared statement about "occupying armies" instead of border patrol.

Seattle's mayor is now fighting the city council because the protests are going to her house.

I think low ranking Dems are realizing they can't ride this crisis up the ladder.

Real late in replying cuz this thread still moves fast, but how many of those populations are actually legal to vote? Minors, immigrants, etc can't vote, and remember that both Seattle and Portland have a large number of internaitonal college students, students from other states who aren't eligble to vote in local elections, and tons of tech worker visa holders from India and China for large tech companies. Dunno about New York but it's probably similar.

Unfortunately in Seattle Durkan was the best choice out of a crappy group. In the primary there was Nikkita Oliver who has been a leader in BLM in Seattle for years who narrowly came in 3rd. That left Durkan and the general election loser Carey Moon who wanted "housing affordability" which was pretty much "rent control" while catering to the homeless drug addects and "transit options" which meant making the citys traffic even worse with more bike lines. You can tlka about low voter turnout or fraud or something, but if the situations in New York or Portland was like Seattle, the general election left everyone with two shitty choices, of which Durkan was the least shitty. Just think the ultraCHAZ that would have happened if Nikkita Oliver became mayor.

Saginaw police investigate possible racially motivated crime after noose found inside vehicle
SAGINAW, MI – Regina Simon couldn’t quite believe what she saw.
The Saginaw resident was awakened around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, July 12 after her husband Donald got into the family’s vehicle at their North Carolina Road home.

“He went to grab a coffee this morning and it was in the side of his door on the truck parked right next to the house,” she said.

In the pocket of the door was left behind what appears to be a noose, with a note attached reading “Accessory to be worn with your BLM T-shirt! Happy protesting!”

“My husband woke me up…because he was just so shocked by it,” said Simon, who pointed out the window to the door where the items were found is broken.

Simon had been out in the neighborhood the day before wearing a Black Lives Matter T-shirt, but no comments had been made by anyone.

“That’s the first time I wore it,” she said. “The funny thing is I was talking with people about what type of reaction it would get.”


Saginaw police confirmed Monday, July 13 that they are investigating the matter as a potential racially motivated crime.

“The Saginaw Police Department is treating this case very seriously and Detectives are currently working on this case in conjunction with the FBI,” per a Saginaw Police Department news release.

They declined any further comment at this time “in an effort to preserve the investigation.”

Terry Pruitt, president of the NAACP Saginaw Branch, said he spoke with Saginaw Police Chief Bob Ruth Sunday night after learning about the incident and was happy to see the response by law enforcement officials.

“We’re certainly going to condemn any act of racism and discrimination,” said Pruitt. “This (incident) certainly is the height of despicability when you start talking about the noose and that sort of thing.”

He has spoken with Simon about the incident and pledged the organization’s support to the family.

Pruitt has also noticed an increase in the number of complaints received by the local branch in the last two to three years against Blacks, Latinos, Muslims, and Asians.


“I think the culture and climate we’re in, there’s an immense amount of polarization,” he said. “We’ve got some work to do to bring people and this nation back together…to eliminate discrimination.”

Pruitt added people should “not be closed mouthed about it” and provide any information they can when such an incident arises.

After the incident, Simon made the move to put signs outside her home reading Black Lives Matter, Who put a noose in our car?, and Honk to end racism.

It’s not the first time Simon has encountered a racial incident.

Around 20 years ago, Simon, who described herself as Mexican and white, was dating a black man and someone carved the N-word across the hood of her car.

Given the time that’d passed and no similar situation, Simon commented, “That’s why I thought, my God, aren’t we past this?”

“We have a nice home. I have a master’s degree. I’m a social worker,” she said. “We’re friendly with everyone in the neighborhood. All of our children play together.”

In speaking with other people, Simon noted she’s had open conversations with her husband, who is Black, about race and tries to listen to both sides.


“I’ve always tried to defend each side and lately I can’t defend it anymore,” she said. “Now it’s at my front door.”

Simon wondered aloud what she’d tell her 4-year-old daughter the next time she wants to take the family’s dog for a walk in the neighborhood.

“Do I have to tell her these are the hateful words that might get thrown at you?” said Simon.

For the person who left the noose and note behind, she harbored no ill will.

“I give them my pity, to walk around with this much hate,” said Simon, who is planning a march/rally through the neighborhood. “I’m not angry. I pity you.”

She's so stupid, the writing on the note is the same as the one on the dozen BLM signs she has in her yard. It looks like she started writing the threatening note with markers then switched to pen when she saw that they would be too large for the piece of paper she'd chosen. I wonder if the reason they Bs have been went over again was an attempt to try to hide that they look like the ones on her other signs? Still, very fake.
