Inactive Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

Megan didn't go full fundie except in the mind of Fuck-you-dad athetist Lowtax. And to what degree she did, Lowtax only has himself to blame.

tl;dr from the stories that have come out, Lowtax was doing retarded SA shit with Garbage Day and pre-troon shmorky, and general video gaming haning out, leaving Megan to be pregnant and neglected in the middle of BFE. Her family was one of the Asian christian types that got immigration priortity in the 60s to 80s, so she started going to church and used that as her social network.

Lowtax got angry at bible people invading his house so bought the SA offices to get away from it, isolating Megan further and giving her no social outlets that we're church, until her beat her and they got a divorce.
No, I think Megan was just adopted by a typical white, mid-western Christian family. Her maiden name was Austin, that doesn't sound like an Asian immigrant families' name. Korean adoption was a pretty big thing in the 1970's and 80's. She was raised in the church and probably found a supportive community there while trying to raise two daughters while her husband hid in the basement and played online.

(If she wasn't adopted I'd totally believe her parents were some Moonie arranged marriage. Lots of Korean-American kids born in the 70's and 80's thanks to that cult but Megan just seems to be a standard adoption of a Korean baby by a Christian American couple)

UGH the BIBLE?

My personal theory is that Lowtax hates the bible so much because it tells people how they should live, and he REALLY doesn't like anyone but him telling his bitch and stupid whorespawn how to live or relinquishing control in any way.
Well, honestly, what is LowT gonna do with a book that teaches honesty, humility, temperance, patience, charity, and faithfulness?

I'm really curious why Ashlii was so quick to marry him.
She was 29 when they married, so she probably wanted to get married before she hit the wall. What I wanna know, is why she didn't get married sooner. I mean, she's not a bad lookin' gal, why didn't some lucky guy come by and put a ring on it? I know gay marriage is legal in Canada, but I don't think it's mandatory (well, yet anyway). What was she doing for 10 years of her adult life? It wasn't like she was getting her doctorate in theoretical physics!

But you know right about now, she's wishing she married someone more like AvE.

There used to be photos of her and her mum online. Her mum definitely isn't Asian.

Lowtax attended Catholic schools and has repeatedly said that is the reason for his hatred of religion.

Lietax is so high he doesn't know what internet magazine he got interviewed for, to no one's surprise

Vice makes more sense since they were the only outlet interested in the history and then demise of FYAD. Obviously (and no surprise) they have a goon or three contributors there because otherwise there’s no way any pub would do a story on this (or previous ones on SA lore).

I know a few (former) goons who write professionally or are regular contributors to some major magazines and left leaning major media outlets. They have been totally silent on the subject of SA for years, even though I still see some on Lowtax’s friends list. (Never seen any comments from them on his FB though. They are just watching the dumpster fire like us.)

Speculation is that she was 29 and a former model, and likely in a very small canuck town; there was probably nothing local she felt was worth marrying. Lowtax shows up charming and having been talked up by her friend.

From what I found online, her mother's estate had only been finalised the year before she met Lowtax. She was 29, both her parents were dead, she didn't really have a career, so she didn't have much in the way of things in Canada which anchored her or gave her stability.

What's more bewildering is why Lowtax would rush into marriage. His divorce from Megan had been protracted. I can only assume he was looking for a trophy and that if it hadn't been Ashli it would have been another younger, attractive, vulnerable woman who was willing to rush into commitment without even getting to know him.

Its not that complex. She was a foot model.

Leafwife couldn't hold a candle to Babydoll.

...and, most importantly, American.

Saw something that Rich was selling SA for $150k. I'm going to assume that includes taking on all the back taxes or something, because I don't think that's enough dosh to keep him pilled up until he inherits mommy's money.

There was a time when he could have sold for 150m probably. How far the mighty have fallen.

Ashlii, if you're reading this; I will marry you so you can get citizenship and not hold immigration over your head. In return, just give us some lols about Lowtax.

She's pretty much sorted regardless thanks to the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) which as I recall she's now doing her immigration process under. So Ashlii will likely still get her greencard and remain in the US no matter how the court case goes.

Also in terms of the rushed marriage. They married before her trip to the US - and she was likely given a yarn from Lowtax and his Lawyer mommy about how overstaying was no biggie and applying for the greencard would be a cinch with them handling it for her. Mom was the one sponsoring her application, and believed for some reason that also gave her power to demand USCIS throw her back over the border once she ran off for the shelter.

This shit was designed so that Ashli would be out with the trash if she ever fell out of favor, with no lingering financial liability to worry about. The first DV police report with Ashli and Richard had him saying outright that he was thinking of deporting her. Given she had practically nobody except the Canadian government to help her if that ever happened, offending Richard would be the end of her life.

Funny that Richard’s the one whose life is now coming to an end. His body is fucked, his brain is cooked through, his friends all left him, his kids hate him, he has a shitload of debts to the government on top of his child support obligations, and his only skill is with early 2000s-era web development. He’s also notoriously ill-tempered and difficult to work with even while conscious and sober.

He is a derelict. Where can he even go here, but down into the depths?

I saw that number being tossed out as $150K going to an abuser. I didn't see anything backing that up; seems to be based on Patreon numbers before the crash?

It's also around the last number we had for what he owed in taxes. He's mentioned being able to start over with whatever amount he's getting.

I can't see why anyone would pay that much for a hobby business unless they had a firm plan for making it profitable. That's nice car or boat money, not the kind of amount you spend on a hobby which comes with never-ending headaches.
