I am really puzzled by her periodic expressions about desire for a walker. Last year, she talked about getting one for almost a whole week, and seemed excited at the prospect. She especially liked the idea that it had a seat to sit on if she got tired (perhaps not considering that even a bariatric walker's handles are not far enough apart for her to sit on the seat part.) Personally, I was amused that most of them have wheels on them; think of the potential slapstick if she tries to sit down and the whole thing rolls down a hill... And then she realized that means she would have to endure some moments of discomfort on her way to the joy of being able to walk for more than a few minutes at a time. And that brought to mind how much discomfort she would feel having to then use that mobility to exercise more and more and more.. and also have to endure the horror of not eating everything she wants whenever she wants. She might have to go a day without potato chips and ice cream? No fam, that would be insanity. She will nip it in the bud and use a walker, or the excuse of not having one to sit down on (I found a bariatric rollator you could fit on, honey. The Mighty Mack Heavy Duty Bariatric Rollator!) so she can just sit back down next to her fridge and forget about this whole nightmare.
