Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

wtf he still comes at her after being shot several times. I get why some cops still hold onto revolvers now.
Looks like she had a jam at 0:35 too, can't tell if it was a limp-wrist induced one from the stress of shooting while having some psycho bullrush you with a knife or if he grabbed the slide and caused it to malfunction that way. Also hard to tell if she's straight up missing him or he's just tanking so many shots from sheer adrenaline/a cocktail of drugs. A good 'ol .357 magnum 125gr pill wouldn't really help in case of the former (though revolvers aren't going to jam if you limpwrist them or the barrel gets pushed up against something/somebody so there's that) but it might in the latter.

i dont know what your doing. Staying at home indefinitely is retärded. and we arent staying at home anymore, not for quite some time. that was for the limited time until a proper plan was in place and numbers went down to be more manageable... and now theyre continuing to go down because everyone is back to living life with everyone masked in crowded places, no massive gatherings, and the government actually keeping track of outbreaks and tracing/quarantining select areas and people properly.. it works surprisingly well.
And the same thing is happening in america. The media can shriek "MUH NUMBERS" all they want. Yes, the number of confirmed cases is rising. And yes, the number of hospitalizations and deaths continue to trend downward, with more deaths attributed to corona looking suspicious or coming from previous months. They are catching the mild cases that went under the radar in april and may because the US took so fucking long to get tests out. As others have covered here, states like Ohio are moving their portable testing systems around to play fucky with the numbers and stoke fear.

Florida had 10K cases in less then a week. And 46 hospitalizations. By the end of the week the vast majority of those hospitalizations had been resolved. But all they tell you is "ZOMG 10K CASES FREAK OUT"

The situation is under control. Even in hotspots the medical systems are able to cope with the strain. We are nowhere near an italy style collapse in 99% of america. The media would have you believe different, because their riot coverage backfired int heir face and now the media has no narrative to print $$$ with, so they're back to fear porn with coronavirus. Government officials are making stupid money with confirmed cases via the health department, there is little incentive to open things back up right now, the real impact will hit next tax season.

Even in areas with catastrophic mask usage the numbers are not spiraling out of control. The masks do jack shit outside of their intended use case, which nobody follows (change every 2-3 hours, no touching, no eating drinking, over nose and mouth, no facial hair, ece).

This is unmitigated insanity. Science has been thoroughly politicized and this is exactly why epidemiologists can no longer be trusted, and precisely why I no longer give the smallest amount of a shit about these lockdowns. If they make even the smallest effort to lock things down and tell me to stay inside after this, I'm not listening, I'm not doing it, they can suck my entire ass.
It's all so they can turn around and say "Science is only politicised because Republicans hate science!", or good old "Truth has a liberal bias".

Held back due to what now
When you effectively ban hugs, handshakes and facial expressions, as well as treating "positive tests"* worse than the Bible treated lepers, it's a bit too late to worry about community cohesion concerns. Talk about shutting the barn door after the horse already left.

*I'll keep saying till I'm purple in the face: positive != active case especially if we don't know what the specificity of the test is.

It was pretty illuminating to see how coverage went from covid to black man dead to riots to tearing down statues and national monuments and then as quickly back to covid. I guess most Americans, white black or rainbow, don't like seeing their communities get destroyed in the media. Also notice how they won't report a huge rise in infections in young people...as in the people who were out rioting and protesting for a month. Even boomers see this shit and wonder why so many people could go out to protest and loot Nike stores for the gibs when they can't leave their nursing homes as they slowly go mad.

It's actually really sad on that last point from a personal perspective. The elderly are literally going crazy being locked up for months, to the point some just want to go to the hospital to get out. Yet the media thinks blaring 10 minutes hate against white people and showing thousands of people in close quarters every night was going to help out the democratic cause. What loons.

Reminds me of this:

Worst-case scenario I foresee is that after the riots die down, they'll cook up any excuse they can to inflate more infection numbers for another round of fearmongering and throw everything into full scale lockdown all over again.

In fact it wouldn't shock me whatsoever if that's the exact plan. Get the riots going, accuse people of racism for not going out to "protest", then as soon as it's over, make up stories about infection/death spikes and whip right back around to screeching about staying inside even longer. You know how some lunatics talk about how the lockdowns could go for 2 years or more? This is exactly how they're going to enforce that prediction.

Probably, hopefully, not what will happen as the normie majority are sick of everything from this cursed year and are itching for a return to normalcy no matter what the leftist regime chimps about, but you can't trust for any positive outcome in clown world these days...
Almost to the fucking letter...

My grandmother lived through the Spanish flu and the great depression. She never even mentioned the former, but the stories of what they had to do to avoid starving during the great depression were nightmarish.

If they keep destroying the economy with these retarded lockdowns, the people who die from the coof meme will be the lucky ones.

I do have a story to tell about how I am affected by Virus. No, nobody I know has died--what is happening right now, death would be a mercy.

My uncle has been suffering from neurological issues for decades. Eleven brain tumors, two strokes and now Parkinson's. He suffered a fall which broke some of his facial bones. Prior to this, he was blind in one eye, but now he is totally blind.

In these days of VirusRegime, ironically the last place you want to be is a hospital. Because it was a legit emergency my aunt had him rushed to the hospital. As far as I can tell, he wasn't magically coded as "a COVID" but because of Virus, he's had no visitors. I had great anxiety at the possibility that some misguided doctor, nurse or technician would euthanize him, but fortunately my aunt made it absolutely crystal clear that she would not consent to such a thing.

I must pause here because what separates Christians and non-religious is that the latter generally believe that there is no dignity in suffering while the former (especially Catholics) believe in redemptive suffering. "And [God] said unto me, 'My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (2 Corinthians 12:9) If nothing else, by sticking up for her ailing husband, my aunt makes good on her commitment her marital vows until the very end.

Fortunately, my uncle was transferred out of the hospital into a rehab center but still, he gets no visitors. Because he's blind, and his wife is not by his side, and because the only thing he can sense is the screams of other elderly people also tormented by their isolation, he is stuck in his own little hell on earth. I pray for him constantly because I worry and there is little else I can do.

Most parents are insanely optimistic about how well they'd be able to homeschool their own children (and a lot of them suck at it even when they claim otherwise).
As others have hinted, it's one thing to know something, but it can be a completely different one to be able to successfully teach what one knows to others -- especially children and teens. The other big question is what happens to kids whose parents don't have the greatest education? The won't be able to adequately teach, guide, or supervise their kids' lessons from home.

Also, with many households needing all the adults to work to support the family, many won't be able to take the financial hit of someone staying home to teach their kids.

I see so many of these parents on Twitter sperging about how they plan to pull their kids and do "distance learning" even IF SCHOOLS DO RE-OPEN, which is just lunacy. They're convinced they can set up a "network" of other parents who work from home full-time yet somehow think they can educate, entertain and socialize at least one school-aged child.
This is where planning and coordination come in handy for those that are truly serious about homeschooling and not using it as a free for all or a form of unschooling (search the Farms' old threads for a thread on that).

First and foremost, know the state and and local regulations because those differ wildly from location to location. Next, people that know what they're doing need to be the ones doing the teaching. Some of the more established homeschooling groups use certified teachers to provide more credibility to their programs. Finally, those involved need to learn what additional resources are available. For example, some churches may have their social hall available for rentals or rent their gym out for one hour per week PE sessions. Some areas might form homeschool athletic programs or other extracurricular activities. And so on.

TL;DR - Homeschooling can work, but ti takes a commitment to research and effort to do so.

As for recent talk about the teachers, there will always be conscientious ones that want to be the difference-makers their students need just as there will be those that phone it in for a paycheck and do the bare minimum of work required by contract or their union reps.

So you're accusing the WHO and CDC of making up numbers while at the same time making up your own numbers.

Information is changing quickly because this is a novel virus. Keep flipping burgers at Wendy's, man. It's more your speed.

what is it with dunning-kruger tards getting attracted to this thread like flies to turds?
tell us then brainlet, what does infections going up but deaths going down mean? hidden mass graves the media is trying to ignore? when they're solely reporting on infections since a higher number is more scary when going up?

there's merely pretending and then there's not even trying.

also big thunk about a kid getting corona guilt-shamed, better lock everything down for a mere cough, sneeze or just rubbing a nose, can't have little timmy get PTSD when his cold kills predisposed grandma.

back in reality, how is sweden doing?

not being economically fucked since they kept shit running, for starters.
