Okay, let's analyze this sentence.

By "doubling down" on "it being a nothingburger", you're implying there's been new evidence proving the contrary. What actual fucking evidence do we have that it's not a nothingburger? I'm genuinely trying to understand how the actual fuck you managed to unironically write such a sentence in July 2020 of all times.
Exactly. The left and WHO were claiming covid was going to result in millions of death, globally. We're barely over half a million atm. Places across Europe has reopened their schools without incident.

The Democrats are some shitheads, as some have said here. They'd prefer to call the legitimacy of the Presidency into question to honest self examination. Hillary knows her mail voting claim is a pile of crap. Trump isn't going to hold onto what's no longer his, but the angle to de-legitimize him, if needed, has been chosen.

If they lose again (which I hope) they will need to actually acknowledge how broken their party has become even with an overwhelming advantage. Hillary getting the door slammed in her face might have been one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in my life. I went to bed early dejected thinking the election was pointless.

I woke up around 5 am and checked CNN.com and the headline read "It's Trump." And I laughed for almost 10 minutes straight. No fucking way. The system works. People saw through the smokescreen of PC garbage and said no.

I really want that feeling again. That the establishment lost to the common citizens.

Doubt it was as amazing as having two Firefox windows side-by-side, one with five tabs of election predictors and live results, and another with 40+ tabs of /pol/ threads, constantly f5ing for like ten hours and watching everything happen in real time.

TBH I wrote it off and didn't really give the coverage much of a chance.

That morning felt like Christmas.

On election day I was at college and somehow the campus wifi went down with the exception of a handful of (school owned) sites that were still accessible. I think someone was mad about Trump.

I was outside the Hillary election party at the Javits Center. I was watching trickles of women and girls come out in all sorts of emotional states. Some were manic and laughing. Some were crying. Some were tracking the stock market and making victorious squeals as the market dipped slightly in shock of what happened. Most were dejected and wearing Hillary victory gear. It was nearly all women—no surprise there, I guess.

I went to a diner and had french toast and cherry pie a la mode. It was almost as filling as their tears. I'd talk more about the night since I saw and heard lots of crazy things I'll never forget, but I don't want to reveal my power levels.

Incidentally, this was about the time I started having fun.

@eternal dog mongler I overlooked something pretty big.

Okay, so "doubling down" basically means "going even further". How's wanting to open schools in the fall more extreme than the initial stance of not wanting schools closed for three weeks last spring? Are you actually mentally retarded?

The idea that the masses, who voted for Trump in 2016, would somehow side with the Democrats this time by voting for Biden, cannot be evaluated otherwise than a nonsense. The political and moral model of the Republicans is unprincipled and headstrong, as long as Americans have their constitutional freedoms, Biden's chance of winning the election will be limited to getting just a little bit more popular votes than Trump at best.

This pretty much sums up the schadenfreude and feel that America had given the most pompous, arrogant creatures among us a giant fuck you:

Anyone have thoughts on Trump's unexpected positions on DACA and immigration lately?
I read some of his press conference that he held. He mentioned passing a bill that would make all immigration merit based. I hope that does come true. I particularly like Canada’s point system, and I hope that gets adopted by the US (such as needing a minimum of $10,000 to even qualify). Again, I truly don’t know what will happen, but that part seemed hopeful. Most of the conference was a Biden roast, so it took a while for me to find the stuff on DACA.

My guess is that he's preemptively defanging another leftist smear and maybe get a few Latino votes on his side since the Latino community is pissed at BLM right now. Or it might be related to the pandemic, since the initial ban on all immigration and the moratorium on issuing new visas was due to quarantine procedures.

My best guess is that it's pandemic-related and the DACA stuff is meant as a middle finger to the Dems and making one of their most common smears less effective

Pardone moi, but what happened? I tried searching it up, but it was the usual fluff pieces from the stock news channels.

The latino community is mad at who? How?
