The The Peloponnesian War lasted over 30 years.

The Roman Empire wrecked shit for an extremely long time. Even after it was sacked multiple times and eventually devolved, it's successors remained a power center of the world.

The Byzantine Empire was losing territory under their direct control for 200 years before Constantinople fell. The US has really only been increasing their projection of hard and soft power throughout the world since WW2, even if it is slower than some regional rivals.

The fall of the Ottoman Empire was percipitated by an economic and technological decline, the same can't be said of the US yet although the loss of our industrial base is worrying.

The Aztec Empire had no idea about the rest of the world. We can directly compare countries in real time.

The Holy Roman Empire lasted for 1000 years as a "barbarian" successor to Rome, and was defeated by direct invasion by a technologically and economically superior military.

The Soviet Empire did indeed have retard strength till the end. Russia remains a regional power and rival because of their strength.

Great Britain hasn't exactly been wiped off the map either.

If the US concentrates on rolling back its hard power, bulking up its soft power, and developing its sharp power, it could exist for centuries more if it just concentrated on self-preservation rather than nation-building or global economic domination. The US is on the way out of being the undisputed top dog in all respects, and yet it will still be one of if not still the most important global player for a long, long time.

And just how are these bollockless little fucking spastics planning on funding this?

Tax. Its Asheville, but expect semi-white flight and any business affected to immediately kick and scream.

Wouldn't be surprised if the city just bumps a "Martin Luther King" titled rec center and uses the rest of the cash to pay out other city projects not related to this at all.

Well, seems someone prevented the cops from getting their riot gear from the warehouse for 3-4 days when this kicked off because 'it looked too militaristic'. And some who had their own weren't allowed to either

Edit: When asked if they've ever experienced a mayor or governor who didn't call for assistance, she said that that other agencies told to be on standby somewhere but never got the order to respond to anything while the cops where being attacked.

I assume most of the cops there are already polishing their resumes to go elsewhere. I would wear my riot gear. In the job interview when asked why I stopped my last job I would be honest and say "I got fired for wearing my personal riot gear when being forced to go into a riot." If that answer costs me the job offer, then that police department/private security contractor was shit and not worth working for anyway.

Where do you all think we will be in 2/5/10/25 years from now? One thing that worries me is that I’m not sure any more. I was 100% sure that brexit would happen and trump would win, from just having a feel for where things were going. But now? I’m just not sure how bad this is going to get.
I keep seeing tiny signs of a flip - the sudden appearance of China-critical articles in the mainstream UK press has been astonishing and to me suggests a sea change from the top. Tiny articles critical of trans ideology, and cancel culture but still nothing mainstream. Covid has been incredibly destabilising (although I thought it’d have a huge impact, I didn’t expect western countries tries to lock down.)

I’d be very interested in hearing where you all think this is headed, short mid and long term. For the first time in a very long time I have no idea where society is going.
Trump will be re-elected in response to the riots, murders, looting and lawlessness caused by BLM/Antifa. Most people have learned to keep their opinions to themselves so polls won't reflect the change and there will be a large voter turnout. 2016 all over again but with more reeeeeeeeee

Upon re-election there will be large scale arrests and prosecution of the rioters/looters. If Giuliani is convinced he may run for Mayor of NYC and win (rate me optimistic but there's been talk). NYC is Wall Street and the Street requires stability while it transitions to be completely digital, at which point NYC can go fuck itself.

The Justice Democrats/DSA will replace Pelosi and the old boomers in charge of the DNC and they will cease to be relevant. Americans aren't commies by nature.

China will be angry and do crazy things like start a conflict in the South China Sea. If TPTB are smart they'll bang the war drums, bring back the draft and send the rioting joggers and larpers to be cannon fodder. Or they may decide to join China. Either way they become worm food and problem solved.

In short the USA becomes conservative (not cuckservative) and right leaning in response to this garbage and power swings to the rural and flyover states and the West/East Coast slowly but surely turn red as well. The radicals and commies on the left will start turning on each other and we may see bombings/assassinations like we did in the 70s with the Weather Underground/SLA types.

The China flu may become another seasonal cold and disappear or it could mutate. Who knows? But it isn't the end of Western Civilization.

I guess this proves my point wrong about Judaism being a White-majority religion. I didn't know Black Jews exist outside of the LARPers. Quite embarrassing. You get shit from both communities because you want to embrace both identities.
The Falashas were brought to Israel in the 1980s in Operation Moses. Additionally there are the Maghrebi Jews who are mostly Sephardic but they aren't black. I recall a small group in sub-Saharan Africa who practiced Judaism although I can't recall where.

Both black and Sephardic Jews are discriminated against in Israel but Yemenites are also badly treated. Israelis are racist but of course they make sure the MSM doesn't focus on that.

I feel sorry for black jews (actual Jews, not we wuz kikes LARPers). They get shit on by both the black community for being Jewish or choosing to convert and they get shit on by the Jewish community in the US a lot because of Jews having bad preconceived notions of black people thanks to hood rats. A black rapper who converted to Orthodox Judaism couldn't get his kids in religious schools and it got to the point where he had to visit the most important rabbi in the world and get a blessing in order for his kids to be educated in the proper way. Ethiopians sometimes also face discrimination as well. You end up getting double fucked by two communities that you are supposed to be part of.

There's actually a rap by that rapper talking about how he relates his identities as a black man, someone with African ancestry, and an Orthodox Jew.

Israel actually had a eugenics policy targeting black Jews.

Pointing that out is a good way to get banned from a certain Kiwi Discord.

Voting in a de facto two party system is a fucked up deal. Your choices are illusory, because both sides have to play into everyone's voting preferences, they can't pick niche issues to run with.
Agree with this. Having a two party system seems to just polarise everything. Having a multi party system moderates the discourse - ironically it moderates because it allows more extremist positions to exist. If there are five parties and one is rabidly single issue then the voter share for that shows other parties how important that issue is to the voters base. They can then incorporate whatever into their own platforms. It also allows for more extreme opinions to exist in a viable format and that actually means the other parties can become more centrist. You never get a long standing centrist view in a two party system because the parties define themselves in opposition to each other.
So it’s the total opposite to what the woke crowd say. If you suppress ‘hateful’ speech you just drive people to vote for more extreme options. By allowing ‘hateful’ (and I purposely put it in quotes because it’s rarely hateful, only not currently sanctioned opinion) speech you can see who really stands for what and vote accordingly and in a more nuanced way. In effect it’s like a containment board plus release valve. Either/or voting options are shit. We need more players in the game

@deeplyhigh let us know how that bodycam footage was.

Also livestream of cops testifying about the riots in the Minnesota Senate

Jesus, the chief has not talked to any officers in weeks? No wonder morale is at rock bottom.

I am going to write up a longer post about the body cam footage shortly.

Has the never ending war in the middle east starting with The Persian Gulf been 30 or 40 years now?

It took a few centuries before any European goverment eclipsed or even had the same world impact as Rome did. Italy still hasnt recovered.

America retreated from Vietnam and Korea, let its enemies supplant and cultivate allies in it's own hemisphere despite the US's best attempts, did nothing to stop Russias expansion into the Ukraine, and still will not and cannot stop Chinese expansion into the South Sea. All in the last 50-80 years. Doesnt seem like an increase of projecting power to me.

The point is hubris.

America has spent the last 70 years developing technology and tactics based on how they won WW2. It should not be a surprise if the rest of the world has found and developed counters to said technology. For some reason America wasn't able to control the air space over Syria despite America wanting to. I wonder why?

Russia is not and probably will never be the world super power it was during the Soviet Empire. Nor does it want to be. Retard strength didn't stop it from dissolving.

Great Britain is not the British Empire. It doesnt have anywhere close to the military or economic power it once had. It very well might lose Scotland in the upcoming years. My post didn't say America wouldn't be around, the empire has an expiration date and it appears to be rapidly approaching.

DFL lady: "At what point do you withdraw from the station because it would be a life threatening to not just the officers but the public"
I don't know maybe if tear gas and OC spray/bullets fail it is time for deadly force to protect "the public at large".

Officer Walker basically calls her out on it by saying "We wouldn't have needed to if the mayor and governor allowed the NG and other departments to respond.

DFL lady's going all "I grew up with cops" after Officer Walker told her why cops don't tend to live in the city.

"I grew up with cops, Floyd was killed by cops [regardless of facts]"

It sounds more like she has daddy issues (If I heard her correctly that her dad was a cop).

you trying to incorporate this into your point shows how shallow your analysis is. The Ukraine revolution was a US / western coup against Russian regional power.

I never had any contention with other countries beginning to close the power gap with the US, especially within their own regional spheres of influence. I merely said other countries were right to fear and/or consider US power and will continue to be wise to do so for quite some time. Race riots aren't going to change that, and neither would becoming ultra-neoliberal globohomerica

Officer Walker talking about cops living in the city being targeted and them being forced to defend themselves and their families and to consider how many casualties could result from a riot if that happens. :winner:
I'm waiting for someone to come right out and say "you don't have a right to defend yourself because so many black bodies have been killed in the name of self-defense" or some shit.

Sergeant Hedberg talking about advising an officer to leave the department for his own good and asking if anyone on the committee has had a coworker call them to ask them to talk them off the ledge from killing themselves. Jesus. Christ.
How she is wording things also, gives in to the idea she is breaking down mentally too, things like "reminding us how bad we are" and the like, the mental abusing is gaining credence in to her like an abused spouse with an abuser .
