Some guy named DrApeis was developing a fangame of YanSim called LoveSick. A bunch of people thought "Wow, you can recreate Yandere Simulator entirely in 2 weeks!" so they started supporting Alex and started supporting DrApeis. Later, Alex tells DrApeis "If the cost of Yandere simulator was ending a person's life, I'd cancel development."

tl;dr - Alex emotionally manipulated DrApeis by threatening to do a flip in order to make sure he didn't have any competition after 6 years.
Except that's wrong. The person Alex is messaging in the screenshot is EpicMealDev, the developer of Watashi no Mono, not DrApeis. Check the dates on the messages and the username.

My god is there any way we can speed up his suicide? Someone tell him Samus wouldn't love him or isn't real. Fuck, straight up lie and tell him she's a lesbian. Anything to press fast forward on this, I wanna see him do a flip.
For all I care (and most of us care, as far as I'm aware) if you want him to die so bad you should feel free to kill Alex in Minecraft.
Afterall, if you want something done right do it yourself.
I don't think tough guys like you are willing to do shit, you're all big words and no substance, but if there's an slim chance you actually decide to do something, keep in mind I will be laughing when you pathetically fail, and oh, no doubt you will fail, so let's only hope it's funny.

Just the fact that yanderedev said that "people" tried to sabotage the development of VA-1 HALL-A it grinds my gears because i know some of the developers, the only problem they had during the production of the game was the fact that they were living in Venezuela still, and developing a game here in this hellhole is a nightmare. But leaving that aside.

You can make something "playable" in two weeks, take into consideration the fact that:

1) All the students are from the same Unity Asset package
2) They're rigged and fully animated
3) The path finding is integrated from an old Unity package and doesn't used Unity Navmesh for some reason.
4) The school itself along with yandere's room, basement and "town" come from the asset store.
5) really basic UI.

You can setup a nice functional third person camera, along with thir person controller and physics withing a hour in Unity, basic AI scripts that can detect the player, among other stuff, the only thing that can give you a challenge is the inventory system, Alex haven't done much, just making new meshes for every single NPC, like hair and shit, but nothing substancial.

Also the "models" i've seen they were made by his volunteers are just "versions" of existing models from the Unity pack, the only "well made" mode i've seen in K-gon vids are from the Teacher rival, that's it.

Still baffles me that people believe that Yandere Simulator has a stealth system which isn't true, or Persona elements which isn't true either, because in Persona or any SMT game, you have CHARACTERS to interact to, and a story. In Yandere Sim there's none of that.

On the whole "coding" "you can make the game in 2 weeks" situation. It depends on what you guys are talking about.

It's possible to buy some assets, copy paste some tutorial code, and have a game up and running in weeks or even days. It won't be complete, and it won't be polished, but it will exist. There is a lot of work that goes into boring, un-sexy features that most players take for granted. Having movement that feels smooth and responsive is a lot more work than the stiff, semi-functional stuff you find in YouTube tutorials and pre-made assets.

A great example is to take a Digital Homicide FPS game or game jam game made in a weekend, and compare it to a years long project like Dusk or Ion Fury.

The promised, final game would likely take years of work. If fans have copied all the current features within 2 weeks, I can believe that too. Both are possible.

Sure no doubt, having a clean functional code at first is basically imposible. What i said that is easy to create runing prototype of what you want, there's no need for "clean code" at this early stage of development.

but are we talking about alpha state which is basically what Yandere Sim is, it's an Alpha, not even a demo. If DrApeis really have a programming background he should know this by now. Because as a developer myself I can tell you that just the fact that the game "runs smoothly" don't say much about the code, it says that either they're using the assets right meaning they clean up the geometry so it doesn't impact the GPU that much, and they're using Unity's occlussion culling so the game doesn't render geometry if it's not on camera, as well with LODs.

What DrApeis needs to do if he doesn't go full authistic is, put Osana first as target, THEN build the mechanics on how the player is going to interact with her i.e killing her etc.

What's with the people a-logging over Alex? He's a stupid incel who can't even make a game properly, and he doesn't go outside. He's just funny to mock and laugh at. He's not even a threat to anybody so why are people so personally offended by him?

My guess is that the most recent of it is disgruntled fans. Until recently the subreddit was censored, and people know that someone from kiwifarms "hacked" it (very autistically may I add.) so they're flocking here to a-log over their shattered delusions of dev. In other words it's probably a bunch of redditards.

More of DrApeis from the lovesick discord:

In other news, Alex started streaming much earlier than usual today.

Oh well, it seems that DrApeis is pretty much like Alex but with some code knowledge, they would start developing features to make LoveSick "feel like an Anime" instead of making the core mechanic of the whole thing which is "killing a target"

The only idiots who actually believe in Lovesick are the redditors (they haven't been autistically following and witnessing the history of Alex and Yan Sim ever since the beginning like we have). Have you guys seen the art from LoveSick's official LEAD artist? Her art style is even more revolting than Mulberry's. She's a literal tumblr SJW OC artist.

i don't have a lot of hope when it comes to lovesick, but that "official" art isn't actually official at all, it seems people just ran with it. i lurk on their discord and one person's art really stuck out to me, i really do wish for this to be the official art.

she is LEAGUES beyond mulberry and even those portraits on the yandere sim website
i really hope she turns out to be a volunteer because their art is pretty cool. or if she isn't then i hope they would hire her as the lead artist (if they're serious about the project)

she also made a cool redesign of yan-chan

You've hit the nail on the head. Most people who a-log Dev are just ex-fans pissed off that they can't play their weeb game where they kill teenagers for their sempai uwu. I totally understand feeling disappointed because the game showed promise, but come on, this was going on for a long time. It's not like Dev suddenly became a lolcow one day.

Hell it even looks more like the Persona art style.

Considering the """official artist""" for Lovesick made Bow-chan look... a little overweight... I'm glad so much fanart portrays her skinnier than that. Considering what we know about that artist, all she knows how to draw is probably overweight chicks. There is the occasional :autism: since the game'll allow lesbian female protags and gay male protags, though.

And it's condoned by their """official artist""" as well.

Ew.

Edit: fixed the broken image... which meant I had to download it. :(

Dude cmon, spend 0.5 seconds on the Furry Art Freakshow thread, or the Deviantart horrors thread, or the Pixiv one and you'll realise there's worse things than a slightly chubbier anime girl making out with Yan-chan.
