Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

Well it didn't get as bad as now in my life time until the internet went mainstream. Guess I dont know how it was long term history wise.

The current polarisation started in the 1990s and got worse until now, as I said. I'd put that down more to increasing differences of opinion between rural and urban voters than anything else.

I wonder how much Reagan had to do with it. That was probably one of the biggest instances of when the left was able to wage a concerted attack using virtually every arm of the media and it amounted to jack shit, endlessly frustrating him that people just ignored them and liked him anyway. Probably says something that they've started using the exact same arguments against Trump, like they're thinking "If only we'd done this in his first term instead of his second...!"

Cause regan had charisma and humor. Also at that time he had the soviet union as the boogie man. Kids these days dont know what soviet countries were like. Back then there were plenty of examples.

Maybe if china and america relations keep heating up.....

No. Reagan was popular in an oddly bipartisan way that no president since him has really been. Look at the 1984 election map compared to literally any election since. I'd put the start of this with the 1992 election in which Ross Perot arguably helped Bill Clinton unseat Bush Sr by splitting the vote. After this Clinton imposed the 1994 gun ban which outraged a lot of conservatives and led to the Republican Revolution in those midterms. As time went on the 2 parties drifted further and further apart in policy until we arrive at what we have now.

You're right that Reagan had an effect on this though, in that he abolished the Fairness Doctrine, allowing partisan media outlets. This led to conservative talk radio on the right and networks like CNN on the left, fuelling polarisation further.

Well, that's interesting. John Weaver, the co-founder of the Lincoln Project, took $700,000 per year to lobby for a Russian state-owned energy company, TENEX, which is owned by Rosatom. If Rosatom sounds familiar to you, congratulations, you've got a long memory. They're the company that owns Uranium One. John Weaver's talked an awful lot of shit over the past few years, but I get the feeling that a lot of this might come across a little differently now that we have this information.

Kinda' strike a different chord, don't they?
Forget Russia, I'm wondering how many of these #Resistance™ and Professionally Trump-Opposing organizations have ties to the Middle Kingdom. If one should have learned anything from recent events thus far, it's that Chinese money runs deep within many supposedly "reputable" organizations.

He also legalized millions of wetbacks in California, turning his home state blue forever.

My goodness. The projection is real, isn't it?

All that time bitching about how Trump was 'the pawn of Russians'...

All this shit flung at Trump is because he's an outsider and not one of them. They don't like it that he didn't spend decades going through the political system to get to the Presidency. He just did it. They don't like it he's a man of the people and governs for them instead of for the donors or wall st. They being the political class we have. The media hates him as well since he always makes a fool out of them since he spent decades being a media darling and learning their tricks and strats.

Exactly, and to add to that, he's also a threat to their dominion. They need him to not only fail, but to be a catastrophic disaster, so the next time Joe Sixpack says 'I'm tired of how things are run, maybe I should run for Congress or mayor or governor' they can point to Trump and say "Are you crazy? Look what happened last time we let one of you take office! Leave this to your betters".

I go to bed, go to work, and then come to this thread to see Witches trying to kill Trump and change the election.

I said it before and it bears repeating: Maybe Purtian witch burnings were just the funny hat wearers finally getting an excuse to rid themselves of insufferable, useless, psycho-bitches.

2020 has convinced me that the only problems with the Salem Witch Trials and McCarthyism is that we stopped too soon.

What’s that saying about how if you point at someone, you’ve got three fingers pointing back at you? Seems appropriate here.

Nah, they're just gonna declare Biden won. That's always what they do, they can't help themselves. Biden could literally stare blankly, mutter incoherently, and shit himself halfway through the debate before being hurriedly and literally carried from the building, and they'd still declare he won. Probably by saying he had more dignity and at least he's not a white supremacist.
Ya know, for all the left's talk of "dignity of the presidency/house, they don't like to show ir whenver Trump's brought up

Because they don't see him as a legitimate president. They couldn't accept Empress Pantsuit's defeat, and cooked up Muh Russia until they actually believed it.

There's also a class issue too. The Establishment is all old money, crystal chandeliers, fine dining, fancy pants wine tastings (where you spit the extremely exorbitant wine into a bucket after tasting it), high society balls and softspoken class. Trump is a new money, brash, blunt, loud working man that likes NASCAR and eats prolefeed like McDonalds.
