Fanmade Pokémon Designs (Fakemon) - Tracers, garbage designers, and of course, furries

Remember that fake leak with the platypus that everyone was freaking out, well this is one of the starter’s evolutions

Thank Arceus THIS wasn’t in TemTem
Also, a fire bunny and a grass chimp, where have seen that before?
It wasn't in TemTem, but the fire bunny is going to be in some minecraft mod called "Snap Beasts".

If this were one of Team Rocket's mechas in the anime, it'd be fine. But this just looks weird to me.

Its just fennekins line, but a rabbit instead. The face at certain angles even looks straight up like Delphox, but with different ears.

The idea of a rabbit with a ridiculously large cotton tail made to look like explosion of smoke is a solid concept for a fire type, but the execution is lacking. And furry.

Oh come on, atleast it looks like a pokemon. You should look at the other fire starter line this artist did.

Though I remember the first stage was an actual horse, and the mid stage was the first stage, seems the artist changed things up, though.

Okay, but why did we need a worse Gallade? You could've just made a Psychic/Dark male evolution that is more akin to butlers or, better yet, actual masculine goth fashion? This just looks more punk to me.

They wanted to make a Gallade version of Gothitelle, but ended up making a weird Megaman OC.

Have any of you heard of #pokeartforenvironment? Unless I'm autistic, and I mentioned this earlier and just forgot about it.

Where do I even begin with this?
The idea behind it isn't too bad, actual pokemon is starting to do environmental issues (corsola and invasive species), but a lot of these are very ham-fisted. Also, why would ozone damage Espeon? Its a psychic type.

I actually think the idea behind this is genuinely really cool. Having Pokemon adapt to pollution and changing environments isn't a bad concept at all, but these designs suffer from a severe lack of nuance and some of them don't even make sense in the context of being for the environment. Most of them do, but Espeon and Sylveon don't.

What does depression have to do with saving the environment-at least in the context of the other Eeveelutions presented here?

Probably because Espeon evolves during the day, and in a way or another is supposed to represent the sun; due to the damage to the ozone layer sunlight is now considered to be more dangerous to the skin, hence why Espeon's skin seems to look detereorated (cancerous too, maybe?).

Most of them being fire or double type ruins the idea of the Eeveelutions being each of one only type based of their evolution method, though.

I guess cause Sylveon probably isn't related to anything in the environment, and is more related to friendship and affection. Then again, from reading this guy's Instagram, he has a habit of rambling on and on incoherently.

I don't get the unnecessary smiley faces, though.

That’s just a generic anime creature. How is that a Pokemon?

I'm amazed at how often these designs manage to look more like not even Neopets, but the pets on the weeb/furry-made sites that chased the virtual pet site trend Neopets made popular like Subeta and Marapets.

Gosh, I haven't played Marapets in ages.

Something I did notice was how eerily similar two particular pets look - Marapets' Walee and Neopets' Vandagyre.

Vandagyre:

Walee:

According to the wikis, the Walee was first introduced in 2005 and received two upgrades, the first on the left being from 2012 and the second from 2017. The Vandagyre was revealed in 2014 and I can't help but make comparisons between it and the 2012 version of the Walee. I can't help but wonder if the guys over at Marapets decided to spite Neopets by making the Walee look like the Vandagyre in the 2017 update too, considering their rocky history with Neopets.

Granted, it could just be a coincidence, but if not it's pretty sad and amusing that a huge franchise like Neopets would ripoff a pet from another smaller game.

Honestly, considering the Vandagyre looks nothing like the other Neopets designwise that's probably true. They sold Neopets to Jumpstart and the one of the first things they do is add a knockoff design from Marapets.
