This would be the dumbest move the Democrats could make which is why I fully expect them to do it.

They'll definitely keep the interval as short as they can. I've little doubt they've crunched the numbers and decided that the ones they'd lose to immediate outrage would be less than the ones who lost all steam or enthusiasm and just didn't show up to vote after months of thinking of voting for Hillary again.

Still, Hillary as his VP pick is the thing that makes the most amount of sense for why they haven't announced yet. Having Biden lurk in his bunker and only come out for enough appearances to assure everyone he's not dead is definitely better than actually having him campaign for them, but they can't think it's better than actively running a campaign would be. They know and the voters know that they're voting for the VP pick anyway, why not make that pick and let the VP do the campaigning? What's the worst that could happen, they get called on it? As if they're not getting called on it now?

No, the VP pick is someone they know will lose them more voters the longer they're known about, and that fits Hillary to a T. They've got a good thing going in the media painting her as the uncrowned queen of virtue and glory, but the voter base was apathetic about her last time and much of it is still openly hostile towards her now. The only other one that makes sense is in fact Kamala Harris and they're worried about the current anti-cop sentiment if they reveal her now, but to me that just doesn't seem as likely, she doesn't seem to have the same amount of political weight to throw around as Hillary to get the DNC to pull a fast one like that for her.

The one wild card is Hillary herself. Would she be humble enough to accept the position of lowly vice president, if even for a moment? Would she allow the legacy of the first female president forever be tarnished by an asterisk?

She strikes me as the type who's ego wouldn't allow it and if that's the case it'd be the first respectable thing I've seen from her.
