In my opinion, it's genuinely not too late for Alex. Sure, it's incredibly late (6 years too late in fact), but it's not too late for him to redeem himself. He just needs to get off his high horse, throw away his crusty cum socks, and admit he's the laughing stock of the internet. That's all.

Once he admits he doesn't have much upstairs, then he can accept volunteers and speed his game up. Well... volunteers that aren't drawing more things for his biweekly spergs on YouTube. If he actually had volunteers working on every aspect aside from coding, then he could easily finish coding/programming and play video games while waiting for the volunteers to finish their jobs. Perhaps he could even learn how to code instead of play games.

Instead of focusing all his time on bitching and whining whenever someone dares criticize him, he could take that criticism and use it to better his game. Instead of throwing a hissy fit when someone makes a fan game, he could praise them and offer them a place on the Yandere Simulator team. If someone posted that very unappealing picture of his face, he could respond by recreating the picture and playing along with it instead.

Alas, this is indeed Alex we're talking about, and I'm just being incredibly optimistic. If I told him this directly, he'd probably call me a troll and block me. Sigh.

Back when I was still optimistic Alex could become a good person, one of the main thoughts I had on him being able to redeem himself was to stop making such elaborate videos and actually work on the game. You can see this sentiment echoed in things like Kappa Kaiju's video on YanSim.

Now that he hasn't uploaded in three months and the primary laughs from Alex come from his weens I've realized the greatest part of watching Alex as a cow was laughing at his god-awful excuse videos. The closest thing we get are his autistic depression-baiting wordpress posts, but everybody would cheer for Hate and Shame 2.0 more then another one of those.

I feel I'm in the opposite boat of the a-logs who wants to see him do a flip. I want to see YandereSim ridden out as long as possible for continued humor at it's expense.

With every failure, we can see exactly why the games failed. In the case of Lovesick and Watashi no Mono, it was a combination of the creators being emotionally extorted by Alex and their own pity for him.

Alex has never actually been able to get one of these fangames cancelled. In the case of WnM, the creator lost interest after realizing that a Yandere killing game simply isn't interesting enough to put time and effort into. Lovesick is still alive (albeit with far less goodwill than before) and most of the drama comes from the creator fucking with Alex instead of actually listening to what he has to say.

It already takes some extreme brain damage to appreciate Yandere Simulator unironically. Imagine devoting a vast portion of your time and effort to recreating this broken game, even if you think you can do "better". And by "better", you mean lifting 80% of the game mechanics that Alex created, including personas, routines, clubs, rivals, sanity, etc. In the end, you'll wind up with a poorly thought-out and derivative piece of crap for a game. Most people realize this before development is even 25% completed, and jump ship shortly after.

The fact is, Alex can't create Yandere Simulator despite being handed assets and Patreon dollars on a silver platter. How can someone try to one-up him with none of these incentives? The only advantage that these fangames have is the support of cult-minded edgelords that are willing to give out endless praise to the latest anti-Alex fangame. And even then, Alex has his own dedicated following of white knights.

Well, I kinda agree. If you try to create "what Alex wants, but good" it's like creating "shitcake, that doesn't taste like shit". But, if you strip it to the barebones idea from that exact thread on 4 chan "you play as yandere and fight rivals" and then build your game from there based on your own ideas, maybe you can work something out. The problem is, these devs follow Alex's footsteps and then wonder why they end up where he is now.

DSP had to some degree. But DSP is someone whose learning capabilities are terribly impaired by his own greed and stupidity, but he actually does something once he has no other option. Sure, he doesn't go past the point of no return, but at least he does something once he's at the very edge of the abyss.

Idk if this has already been posted, but someone in the y_s subreddit estimated that Alex has made over $1m total on the game, which is more than most finished indie games make, and (at his peak) was making $200-$250k in game-related income per year.

Meanwhile other developers who were working with TinyBuild were strugling with where to get money to finish their projects at least partially *cough* Ice-Pick lodge *cough*. This guy made arround a million worth of dollars on debug sandbox which is not even in-beta and still has third party assets.

Basic animu drones are quite dumb, edgy and very expandable.
I am speaking of the type of young newbs who only watched most hyped titles like SAO, Tokyo Ghoul, Franxx etc. They are basic enough to eat everything that is overhyped and looks animu. They are also sometimes in favor of pervy humor, so of course they don't consider YanDev a creep.
Also keep in mind that Alex kinda presents himself as "developer close to people". Basically, he cultivates parasocial relationship with his audience to make them close eyes on his obvious failures and belive him more than his opponents.
Just imagine that you heard from someone that your close and good friend had a history of kicking puppies. Even if they had evidence you would have much harder time accepting it and would rather agree with your friend's side of the story, even if may sound bullshit.
What YandereDev does is to try and be your friend to exploit you + he doest it with already gullible audience, since same tactics didn't work on 4chan and he had do burn the bridges.

Alex's fans are mostly children, it's not taking much to trick them. Also, they see that Alex is a living joke on the internet, but interpret this as trolling without even trying to look into these accusations any further. After Shit n Shame they were in the comment sections of every video critical of him, calling people gremlins and even telling them to off themselves sometimes (oh, the irony).

The right side of models looks like something straight out of Honey Select (a 3D modeler game where you design a character and make porn scenes). There's no point in changing the uniforms if it still uses the same base prebought face. Also if he uses the models he's hiding in the game, it would stand out like a sore thumb as the shading and style completely clashes with the "uWu animu" style of the game.

Alex claimed he was going to change models to thinner with more teenage proportions (and no that's really not just code for "titties"), give Ayano longer, semi-original hair, and those underboob style uniforms like the ones from School Days. This was in 2016, no way he's changing it now.
