I always had assumed they were really good friends and spoke to each other a lot but I think they both deny having an extensive relationship. It's likely Gator really does just like what he does and doesn't mind doing it for nothing. All the cohosts have tried, in one way or another, to get their own after-the-Killstream shows going. Zidan had his first and he did well, but since leaving it's fallen on the others. Bibble, Rand, and Flamenco all had theirs beaten down very quickly by the Gunt, and so Gator's the only one left with anything remotely similar to it, and he only does it, really, to guntshield Ralph from you or PPP--especially when either one of you is streaming and he can streamsnipe you to make snide comments (like telling PPP to do a pushup when the very thought of physical exertion puts Shannon into a miniature cardiac event).

I'm sure in the beginning they were expecting the Killstream to lead into some type of Alex Jones-esque or TRS deal where they all have their own shows at different times under one banner, kind of trying to create a media conglomerate. Hell, Ralph has said before he wanted to do what The Young Turks do and show that it's easy to do it better than them. I want to say they're trying to keep it going in a futile attempt. Ralph can't even keep one show going, he sure as shit isn't going to let Gator--who does all the work to begin with--have his own offshoot that shows the clear amount of effort put into their respective shows by each of them. I wouldn't be surprised if Ralph's been stringing Gator along all this time saying they just need a bit more time to get the Killstream back to where it was, then they'll start branching out.

Sure, we get that. But it's been a huge drop-off for Ralph over the past 18 months. He went from $13,000/month to about 10% of that, if the guys who were tracking that up to a few months ago are correct. It's easy to see Ralph wanting to bring that money back in (because who wouldn't want to?), but he's burned every bridge and salted the earth behind him with his actions. Gator just gives "Stockholm Syndrome" vibes at this point, or someone who is too afraid to change to better himself. I don't think--barring Ralph doing some so egregious that he has to disavow him--Gator is going to bail on the Gunt, especially after the Pillstream, Miami arc, and the shit he's done the past few months.
