China is not a democracy. The USA is (media war on informed choice not withstanding). In other words the government of China can prosecute a war whenever and wherever they like. The US government needs at least modest support of the people. A war against an invading China - sure, no problem. A war against a country like Libya that cannot strike back - okay. A war against a powerful foe that features images of coffins draped in the US flag being brought home in the hundreds night after night? US government would see heavy resistance by the people.
Any war with between the USA and China will be in Asia. Which means a lot of people will, perhaps rightly, question why US troops are going half way around the world to die. If the US cared about human rights it should sever any alliance with Saudi Arabia.
WTF I love glowies making people disappear now. Maybe they can start raining from the sky too. Nothing brightens up a protest like seeing a 350lb whale go SPLAT right as you try to pull down another statue of an American hero.Statement on CBP Response in Portland, Oregon
Release Date:
July 17, 2020
"While the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) respects every American’s right to protest peacefully, violence and civil unrest will not be tolerated. Violent anarchists have organized events in Portland over the last several weeks with willful intent to damage and destroy federal property, as well as injure federal officers and agents. These criminal actions will not be tolerated.
CBP agents had information indicating the person in the video was suspected of assaults against federal agents or destruction of federal property. Once CBP agents approached the suspect, a large and violent mob moved towards their location. For everyone’s safety, CBP agents quickly moved the suspect to a safer location for further questioning. The CBP agents identified themselves and were wearing CBP insignia during the encounter. The names of the agents were not displayed due to recent doxing incidents against law enforcement personnel who serve and protect our country.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its components will continue to work tirelessly to reestablish law and order. The Federal Protective Service (FPS) is the lead government agency that CBP personnel are supporting. CBP personnel have been deployed to Portland in direct support of the Presidential Executive Order and the newly established DHS Protecting American Communities Task Force (PACT). CBP law enforcement personnel have been trained and cross designated under FPS legal authority 40 U.S.C. § 1315."

CBP just put out a statement concerning that "Use your words" video. It was real; they're the ones who arrested him.
In reality? Yes, but people bring up China invading the US, much like people bring up Japan invading the US in WWII. It's important to bring up why those were never realistic possibilities, since they have a tendency to persist.
I know Americans are ignorant of other countries histories, laws and all that, but why are they so ignorant of their own laws?
Is nothing taught in schools? I don't mean college either, I literally mean high school. It's weird, in other countries we learned about important issues and laws specific to relevant geopolitical areas. In high school. We went over the constitution, basic american civil law, it's history and the history of important civil rights events.
This is all besides the fact that they aren't secret police. Nor is using the feds some verboten action. You go nuclear, you'll be treated like any other terrorist, Ryan, you cock goblin.
BTW, Ryan's Reddit is a fucking blast https://archive.vn/KgP7j he gets into "Toxic Masculinity" in one of the first posts.
If you don't shout "Get off of my GODDAMN LAWN!!!!" I am gonna be so let down and disappointed, to be honest.I have my grandpa's old rake by my front door, i'll menace them with it!!! It could do some real damage!
Dude no. The fact that kid was distracted for 5 minutes, having fun, bothering nobody, it's worth a half a buck. Good on her for being noble but I would have just declined.and gave me back the money I had given to him out of her own pocket
Welp before the the late 70's, early 80's the federal Board of Education did not exist and there was no centralized mandate on what subjects to teach. Coincidently also prior to this most if not all highschools, at the latest, across the country taught something called Civics.I know Americans are ignorant of other countries histories, laws and all that, but why are they so ignorant of their own laws?

Jesus christ, this shit is still going?
MSM headlines shoukd Trump be reelected: "Death squads appear in blue cities taking brave young protesters away!"Buckle up, Buckaroo. This shit isn't going anywhere. To November! And beyond!!
Seriously though, this shit is gonna carry on til after the Election. And if Trump gets back in it'll get *bad* after that
I would assume the situation is like in the former east european countries like Poland, where the people were forced to shut up because of the secret police and the commies as a whole, now replace Poland with Portland and commies with worthless hipster leftie faggots and secret police with getting doxxed, threatend and losing your job.How many normal people are there in Portland? I mean, is it lots of regular ordinary citizens and then this Leftist mob that they all have to publicly agree with; or are most people there actually in favour of this crap?
Eh. I guess they're only destroying their own communities. That's still a bad thing thoughBuckle up, Buckaroo. This shit isn't going anywhere. To November! And beyond!!

Yeah, not everyone in their communities is going to agree with them or want their doorstep view turned into a smouldering shit heap, right?Eh. I guess they're only destroying their own communities. That's still a bad thing though

And then the guys from the nice little community towns come out armed, and the protests for whatever reason turn out non violent. I wonder whyYeah, not everyone in their communities is going to agree with them or want their doorstep view turned into a smouldering shit heap, right?
And honestly, that's not entirely accurate either, when you bear in mind Antifas fondness for bussing/driving in white protesters from nice suburbs or gentrified areas into holes, then letting them run amok

Even if we went to war with China, I don't think we'd actually attempt to invade them. That way lies madness, but so does invading Russia or Afghanistan and people keep thinking those are both good ideas, so who knows. You could crush China without ever having to put boots on the ground with a simple blockade and maybe mining their ports after putting the PLA(N) on the bottom of the South China Sea.
China is awfully ballsy for a country that can't feed itself.

The assassination of black American George Floyd and the global BlackLivesMatter movement against police brutality and racism have led to demands for the abolition of the police in the US public debate.
Similar thoughts come up in connection with the police operation Rimfrost in Malmö.
We believe that the police must be reduced, and that their systematically racist work and technology must be stopped.
Ekot reported on June 12 that the police have tested a new technology for face recognition, but without informing the Data Inspectorate.
Two days earlier, both Amazon and IBM announced that they would stop developing facial recognition technology and end cooperation with the US police, as research has shown that the technology reproduces prejudices about race, age and gender.
Research conducted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Microsoft shows that the most advanced facial recognition technologies fail in 34.7 percent of cases with black women, compared to 0.8 percent for white men. It is an effect, hidden behind an illusion of technological objectivity, which is a continuation of today's structural racism.
Despite the built-in prejudices that exist in technology, Swedish police use minority groups as a laboratory to test new and non-certified tools. That this is happening must be seen in the same context as the revelation of the racial profiling of Roma in 2013, when it emerged that the police had mapped large groups of Roma, both adults and children, and the latest racist posts from police about BlackLivesMatter demonstrations in a closed Facebook group, as reported by Aftonbladet among others.
Politicians 'and authorities' lack of interest in holding the police accountable for their structural racism and the continuous use of methods and technology that are problematic in relation to "race" is serious.
According to the police, the result of Operation Rimfrost in Malmö is the seizure of weapons, drugs and the mass arrest of suspects, whom the police call people with "violent capital". This week, however, SVT reported that the shootings have increased this year.
Much is missing in both the police's analysis and in the public discussion about Rimfrost, for example the suffering and difficulties that operations such as this create for the districts and inhabitants who are exposed to repeated military-like invasions. For example, at the end of April, more than 200 police officers participated in an operation in Rosengård, and in January, 729 properties were searched in three districts in Malmö.
The target for the operations are so-called vulnerable areas. They are characterized by poverty, unemployment and overcrowding. But what are considered criminal areas and people with violent capital is a result of what the police choose to see or ignore.
By controlling certain neighborhoods and people, the police produce crime statistics that legitimize more control of the same people and neighborhoods. An image is created of who are criminals. The result is an over-control of the poor and minorities. Rich people and the areas where they are are not controlled in the same way at all.
In the US, the WCCRZ (White Collar Crime Risk Zone) app uses machine learning and public data to identify people and places at high risk of financial crime. The app's developer writes: "Unlike many other predictive control patches that criminalize poverty, WCCRZ criminalizes wealth."
By redirecting the police's gaze, it is possible to make visible the systematic racism that results from the police's current control technologies. When was the last time hundreds of police officers were seen in Limhamn, Västra Hamnen or where Swedbank's managers live?
The police are the state's force of violence. It is an outdated power that uses primitive and violent techniques. They most often affect society's most vulnerable groups.
The police in Sweden today use working methods and technology based on structural racism. The Riksdag and the government must therefore redistribute the appropriations to the police - the solution is fewer police officers, not more.
The question is which problems a force of violence needs to be solved, and which problems actors other than the police are more qualified to solve.
Drug problems require social and medical measures, not deprivation of liberty. People need decent living conditions and jobs they can live on, not police officers and drone surveillance.
A redistribution of resources can be used for local initiatives, for example where residents themselves mediate in conflicts. Stigmatizing certain neighborhoods as parallel communities only exacerbates social problems.
We claim that only minimal problems in society need to be solved with the help of a force of violence and that most of the police can therefore be scaled away. The alternative to today's racist police work is thus to dismantle the police.
Justice, security and safety are created through investment in local initiatives, without punitive purposes.
