I'm sure in the beginning they were expecting the Killstream to lead into some type of Alex Jones-esque or TRS deal where they all have their own shows at different times under one banner, kind of trying to create a media conglomerate. Hell, Ralph has said before he wanted to do what The Young Turks do and show that it's easy to do it better than them.
The Young Turks have burned through millions, and their audience are still happy to throw money at them. The truth is left wing progressive audiences are willing to fund the content they consume. Something that people on the right won't do.
Now is certainly not the time to try that with the expectation of making any money. That's all that happens any more. They don't arrest people or censor people as much as they just stop them from making money.
Ralph still has his Patreon, his problem isn't that he lacks a means to process payments, it's that his (still quite large) audience aren't willing to back him financially.
