Is going back to 1.12 going to have so much performance gain that a server having trouble with 1.16 vanilla will have no or little issues running nearly 100 mods at 1.12?

They are lite cause they get rid of mods that Mukbang RAM like they got a thread on Beauty Parlor. Not every mod is Thaumcraft, Immersive Engineering, RF Dimensions, or Draconic Evolution. Chisel 2, TCon, and Pam's HC don't put much strain on a server.

That mod adds in way too many food items for my liking and it even goes as far as to heavily nerf the vanilla food to the point that you have to use the modded stuff. That wouldn't be a bad thing if they weren't nerf so harshly (why does steak now only recover 2 Hunger points). They have updated their mod to the newer version with some heavy tweaks and even separated certain aspects of it into different mods. Never bothered trying it out, though.

We're much better off using a mod like Simple Farming. It does what PHC does on a much smaller scale and without nerfing vanilla food.

I think nool wants to have a server with only serverside packs, since he's running some kind of Spigot server for performance.

@Null hey man i was testing shit out to see what i can get away with and ive found a few things.
1. whatever your using to detect hacks and stuff, its not picking up xray at all.
2. Freecam isnt detected.
3. jesus mode isnt detected (allows you to walk on water)
4. Nuker isnt detected (allows you to AoE destroy blocks around you every few seconds)
5. Flight is detected but you can exploit it by turning it off every few seconds which seems to bypass whatevers being used to detect it.)

just giving you a heads up.

killaura gets you autokicked near instantly it seems.

Personally I'd be happy with a vanilla experience with minor land staking possible (a /claim command using something like a stick)

Too many mods gets messy and a mostly vanilla server can be more agile with updates. Maybe do what 2b2t THE OLDEST ANARCHY SERVER IN MINECRAFT does and have a queue server that can be bypassed with a paid pass. Keeps the lights on and server load down.

fuck no, queues are autistic, if the worst comes and the server is invaded by 12 year old rapefugees just make it whitelisted and force everyone to apply on the farms.

yeah, adding a modpack would just fuck over anyone that has a potato computer that could still run vanilla but not 60+ mods. It would also just be cluttered and confusing for people that are new to MC and barely know anything about vanilla, much less mod items/mobs/mechanics.

I wouldn’t be mad at a simple food/crops mod though, vanilla food has always been a little boring imo.

modpacks just complicate stuff while a vanilla or few plugins server would be just fine for our purposes. (people who use chisel imo aren't creative enough with vanilla mc decorations. you can do a lot with just stairs and slabs. and I doubt most people are interested in thaumcraft or twilight forest)

idk why the server isn't whitelisted. the server should be for TRUE and HONEST kiwis. no disloyal outsiders or raiders.

Anyway where can I get burner accounts for cheap? I'd spend maybe $10 but not $30

vanilla minecraft just becomes simply boring without new and great goals that mods can provide. I understand that some people are autistic and enjoy building shit for the fun of it, but that's not the average person. One or two big mods like immersive engineering and thaumcraft would be great, we need to strike a balance between fun content and people not knowing what the fuck is going on because they haven't seen half the shit on the server.

But simple mods like journey map can only help the server
