One answer is that they see the blacks and troons being hypersensitive assholes who can get away with being terrible forum members, and they want in.

Another is that they, like their fellows on ResetEra, have no time for context or reading comprehension and so take any negative mention of the Chinese government or Covid-19 as racist.

But a third is that ResetEra members regularly shit on Japanese video games, devs and anime for not sharing their oh-so-progressive values, ignoring that different cultures exist. Those comments can and do get quite racist. Asians are also considered a model minority and are one of Schrodinger's POC. Which means that when talking about racism and oppression, the blacks of ResetEra look at the high level of accomplishment of Asian-Americans and say things that are very thinly-veiled versions of, 'Yeah, but you haven't experienced real racism'.

To a place like ResetEra, Asians aren't white - so they're automatically victims of oppression and racism because of evil whitey. But they also are stereotypically successful, which they think shouldn't be possible for victims of racism, based on the people they are or know who claim that if it wasn't for evil whitey's racism they would totally be millionaires. And we know how NPCs get when you give them cognitive dissonance - they get angry.

Basically, like the Jews, Asians are considered non-white for some purposes, and white for others, depending - and that inconsistency, on a forum whose mission statement might as well be 'It's OK When We Do It', means Asian-American users aren't getting to be as touchy and outraged as other oppressed groups. That those groups who get special treatment are the main sources of anti-Asian and anti-Jewish sentiment has likely not gone unnoticed but would definitely get you a ban for pointing it out.

You can add to that list Latinos, Arabs, Italians, Polish, Russians, Irish, Romani, Sami - all of them "Schrodinger's White People" who can be both evil white oppressors or noble PoCs depending on what retarded point the person concerned is trying to make.

I realize this isn't a real-time meeting (wtf is a "meeting" on an internet forum anyway? Canadian Indians (Hey, by law they get an Indian Status card, so that’s what I will call them here) change their accepted descriptor every few years for no good reason, and often to laughable things.

They were Indians for a long time, then decided to change to Native, but decided that wasn’t special enough, so then came the hilariously bullshit term “First Nations”, and now it’s “Indigenous Peoples”, which is also total bullshit. Then again, they get an actual, official, government-issued Race Card, so what do I know?

The funniest thing about RetardEra is it pretends to be some super progressive place and it's really just for white supremacist white men in dresses to tell actual minorities what opinions they're allowed to have, given to them by white men in dresses who have declared themselves the most oppressed minority of all time.
