I think whomever pointed out that if Ron really had insurance covering his case, then he would have submitted his $50,000 for reimbursement and already received a payment also cut him to the quick. Ron's financial status is the only status he has worthy of flaunting (particularly since it's also what got him his famous fiancee), so when we point out that he's not going to be a bloody cent richer after this lawsuit than he was before, even if he does get Vic to pay 100% of his fees, it drives him just as crazy has mentioning how many bulls it takes to satisfy Monica, if not more.

He's a very stupid guy but I wonder if he knows his lolyers have really been taking him for a ride on their interpretation of McGibney. Has he figured out it isn't good for him at all? How much money have they charged him for that? Does he realize he's going to have to pay for their misinterpretation of that case, and he's going to have to pay a lot?

Originally, I was inclined to believe Ron was something of an evil rules-lawyer - someone who would search for any way to twist the rules or misinterpret them in his favor. I assumed he was making a conscious decision to ignore certain evidence and promote certain misinterpretations.
However, seeing the way he responds to things on the Farms, I am now convinced that I was waaay overestimating him. With Ron, everything is an appeal to authority. He shows absolutely no ability to engage with the subject matter - only to throw insults, deny that Monica has a Bull, and claim that someone else out there has somewhere successfully argued his position so he doesn't need to.
If Ron's lawyers ever explained anything to him, I am now certain that 98% of it flew right over his head, and the only 2% that he managed to process was where they would say, 'Oh, we'll totally ask the court to make Vic to pay for this,' or, 'Oh, we can totally start building a case against Nick for you.'
I think Monica is the brains in their little duo, and she tells him the absolute bare minimum that he needs to know. She basically points him in the direction she wants him to start shooting off so she can have some free time to pursue her own interests.

That's the funny thing about Ron. He's not even crafty or cunning at all, he's just really a very stupid person who has been taken for a ride. His lawyers suck and have somehow been mega lucky in getting an even dumber judge, but Ron is still taking it up the butthole. That's even if everything sticks. Even in the best case situation, he is getting raped, unlubed.
Maybe he liked that, I don't know. But even his best case scenario has him going to his grave as an absolutely worthless asshole with a blown-out anus and a completely destroyed reputation. He's basically in the situation he wanted Vic to be in.
