Because a mom would totally and casually tell her 11-yr old son that she's going to cheat on her husband.
Jesus CHRIST that third panel. Also, she stands and runs over to the other side of her friend, onto the floor on the opposite side of the doll, teleports to be back next to her friend, then between her friend and the doll. What I'm saying is...location matters, people. Also, is she missing a front tooth or not? Finally, the friend's feet scare me.Brother, we are approaching Chris-Chan level of artistry here. Check out the friend

That makes a lot of sense. It also explains why he's allowed to join the Strawmen's Rights group because you know she would never okay that.I get the impression they got divorced over the Steph issue. The two are never seen together aside from in flashbacks and their parenting styles are obviously different. I also think it's why the dad had such a severe reaction in that comic where Steph said she got a sex change (actually a hair cut). The mom enables Steph completely so going into surgery without consulting him seemed within the realm of possibility.
Dude, I think I literally spit a few of my surgical stitches at that. Bravo!
So, the latest one is here. Steph infection looks like she's on the verge of panic at the thought her mother may be a *gasp* lesbian.

What kind of message is that supposed to be in a comic for children about how it's okay to be trans? "look kids, be yourself and your parents will fight and get divorced and it'll all be your fault"They are divorced but it is very poorly explained. Sophie never shows the parents going through the process of divorce or even discussing it with Stephie. The closest she gets are a few comics where Stephie or her dad mentions it's their "last day together," which is really vague. When I first read this comic I assumed that their "last day together" meant Stephie's last day as a boy before hormone treatment.
That would explain the whole "deadbeat dad" look the father has. They are divorced but it is very poorly explained. Until he accepted Stephe as a girl, then he looked all clean cut and tidy.
Lynn Conway made some important discoveries IIRC.When we get a transsexual scientist making a major discovery, or a transsexual person who's as cool as the likes of Freddie Mercury, Stephen Fry or George Takei, that is when they'll be accepted in mainstream society at large.
