The Twitch DMCA Saga (Three Times Resilient!)

I cannot believe how vulnerable DSP has become now that Hassan's gone. I honestly thought you guys were exaggerating whenever you brought up his protection, but it seems like the assessment was spot fucking on.
With this DMCA business going on, you seriously have to wonder what other methods that used to be useless could now be used to nuke his Twitch for good. Although if he gets unbanned too many times due to bullshit claims, he might just get his impenetrable shield back if Twitch decides that people abuse the system too much against him, so this might just backfire when all's said and done.

Side note: what was Hassan even expecting to get out of protecting Phil of all people? Nudes?

Not really a big fan of this Superhound troll guy to be honest. All he's doing is making people feel bad for Phil, resulting in more pigs donating cash to him.
I always figured Phil would go down due to the fact that people stopped caring about his lame ass. Now he can use this as another "it wasn't me, it was the trolls" excuse as to why his life is as miserable as it is.

So since DSP has been hit for the second time do you think he might get the "Curse-Treatment"? If I remember correctly he was fired from Curse because he was more work then the revenue he brought in justified (in this case Copyright strikes on Youtube) So could Twitch pull that card too now that DSP is getting hit repeatedly? I think Twitch actually made this possible with their changes in their TOS which had a lot of Twitch streamer up in arms in regards to Copyright strikes for Clips that had material in them that could be considered in Violation of Copyright laws. Not to Mention his childlike tantrums "Muh buisnesssss!" and "Twitch is stupid". I would certainly consider dropping him from my Partnerprogram when I can still have good Revenue from easier to handle thots

Nice to see that he still claims to that he would loss everything as soon as he can't stream for a few hours. He should know his own luck by now, that he won't be suffering any financial short comings with his wheelchairs throwing their tugboat at him every time he declares a Ree-emergency.

By the way, isn't it very much against the Twitch partner program to stream on other platforms? Temporary ban doesn't void that part.

That's what I'm wondering. Phil is partnered with Twitch and has a contract of some sorts with them, right?

I imagine Twitch wouldn't be thrilled with the idea of whenever they suspend one of their streamers, they essentially ban evade by going to the competitors platform during the ban. Especially when they continue streaming for money on the new platform, as Phil is doing.

I think this still could have happened even if Hassan was around, the difference is Phil would just go to Hassan right away instead of scrambling because he wasn't assigned a new tard wrangler/ignored whatever message Twitch sent about them assigning someone new. Even without Hassan, the previous ban didn't even last a day.

I think we can get some entertaining rants out of this, but I don't think anyone should get their hopes up that they'll be able to nuke Phil's Twitch once and for all. Outside of a few bigger name/noteworthy cases, Twitch has extremely lackluster rule enforcement. Even when they do step in, they tend to do short term bans as opposed to permanent ones.

Once Phil actually gets around to talking with a real person as opposed to shouting at bots, he'll probably be in the clear. I could see this happening a few more times at the very least before it is finally resolved, so I say the best thing to do is sit back and enjoy the salty rants as we get them.

As for what Hassan got out of it, it sounds like he had the same mentality as Swaggings or some other DSP mod. He just liked having power, and it also sounded like he was something of a contrarian, so he might have enjoyed keeping DSP around just because he knew so many people hated him. Hassan definitely cared more about his other Twitch pets than he did Phil. He probably offered Phil some basic level of protection, but if it came down to it, I don't know if Hassan would have really gone to bat for him. He certainly didn't seem to be pushing to get Phil involved in any sort of partner events or sponsored things at the very least.

That would set an awful precedent.

"Hey if you fuck with someone enough, we will delet their livelihoods through no fault of their own."

Twitch is retarded and ultra-pc and all of that, but at the end of the day they are a subsidiary of Amazon and are expected to make money, if nothing else.

I've been looking at this for about the past 5 minutes and just shaking my head in frustration, and yeah I'm a little heated.

If he wasn't so up his own ass about everything, I'd have a hard time believing he ever held a real job. Yes Phil (and I'm addressing you, because we know you come here), when you cause problems for your organization (no matter how bullshit), they will drop the hammer on you. The way you ensure they put in that extra effort to protect you, is to make yourself irreplaceable. You are not one of the big streamers, and with your contact (who was probably Hassan) gone; quick aside, good job on staying up to date on happenings in your industry (yes YOUR industry, you even told viewers that Twitch is your job, that makes it your industry), Hassan came out as a sex pest and got removed, way to stay on top of things. Anyway, you didn't want to be one of the big ones, you didn't want to be Mr. Popular and all that other shit you say, because it comes with problems, yes it does, the bigger shadow you cast, the bigger target you become; but at the same time, the bigger shadow you cast, the more willing people are to stick their neck out for you. You didn't want to become big, you actively worked against getting new viewers/subscribers when people would hold you; you had to make your clock-out time because the Kat, and not even a special event, just because. Your cut yourselves off at the knees on purpose, and now you're crying when the water is rising and no one is throwing you a life jacket. Grow the fuck up and learn to take responsibility faggot.

Well that's why I said more Trouble then they are worth.I bet that the Top streamers who bring in good Money (and also within Twitch's preferred ways like Subs and cheers) are better protected. DSP on the other Hand probably brings in some Money but should this dumfuckery increase he might flip the balance and make them cost more then he brings in (which would be part of his own fault by preferring tips and therefore circumventing Twitch's "payment")

Yes but it's better to not cause an incident and either open yourself up to a lawsuit or entice others to leave the site. It's bad PR that Amazon doesn't want.

I agree with your larger point (it's raining now and he blew his rainy day fund like a tard who doesn't understand a common expression) but there's a sentiment in this thread I'd like to add my voice to.

It'll be a bitter pill to swallow if Phil gets thrown off Twitch for something he didn't do.

Did he basically ask for this with his response to Round One? Yeah, but it doesn't change the fact that what's happening is the abuse of an extremely flawed automated system. At the end of the day he's still the same asshole and Twitch is still the same shitty platform implicitly standing by everything he does by refusing to drop the hammer when he calls his viewers retards or makes Asian ching-chong noises. For the people wanting to see him gone for justice or karma, gotta say, that ain't it.

The salt is funny, definitely, but not so much when viewed in the context of what brought it up. It doesn't feel great, even slightly standing in Phil's corner, but this isn't how things ought to go down. As bulletproof as the man has seemed to be in the past, that doesn't make the case in my mind for him to get nailed for something erroneous.

If DSP organizes a rally to protest the DMCA I am fucking there. We'll march on Washington, we'll repeal that damn law, usher in the 1000 year DSP Reich, and we'll carry DSP on our shoulders as kang back to the other Washington so he can resume playing games on Twitch.
That would, honest to God, be one hell of a redemption story.

Considering Phil's broken twitch TOS several times in the past and gotten away with it due to previous protection, and considering that he got other twitch channels suspended simply because they had things like a puppet parodying his likeness or usernames being too similar to his, then I feel like it's long overdue for this to be happening.

Did Phil do anything wrong in this current situation? Not really, but he done a lot more wrong previously so it's karma.
