One of the people that does the "I used to be an ardent alt-right Nazi but then I saw the light, me saying that I can change totally makes you want to be leftist as well, right?" thing got caught out:

The sub he posted this in is a fringe leftist sub called "stupidpol." This sub is a rarity in that it opposes identity politics.

I'm not really sure what this guy's goal was, maybe he thought that there are right-wingers that browse stupidpol and his manipulation tactics were directed at them? Or he gets off on praising leftist politics and made this weird LARP narrative.
Every time I see one of these posts or articles to the tune of 'I used to be alt-right but now I'm decisively left wing!!', I wonder whether they realize that it actually makes them look like some of the most naive, easily swayed and least credible idiots to have ever existed, rather than a 'villain finally seeing the light' or whatever. Do they really believe this crap is going to convince anyone?

This is from stupidpol.

They went from ironically gay to satirize shitredditsays to being taken over by faggots.
The gayness was never ironic, dude. Part of what started the split from SubRedditDrama were old-school fags getting mad that the straight ally mods weren't letting them gossip about the dumpster fire that was 2012-era /r/LGBT. I'm pretty sure JR was running a re-watch of RuPaul's Drag Race on /r/drama during the first few months we emigrated from SRD after the Megathread wars. The faggotry just changed as the modern ones are all shut-ins addicted to their sissy hypno and uWu nonsense and are terminally incapable of taking a joke.

Saidit.net webmaster reflecting on the DDoS attack today:

No worries, it's just part of the job.

Yes these same things are affecting ruqqus and notabug and many others. It's gotten to the point where if you try to start a forum (especially a modern reddit-style one), this style of cultural attack just part of the territory. It didn't used to be like this 15 years ago, maybe even it wasn't like this 5 years ago, but it is now.

Alternative forums need to learn from each other, to build the best defenses against these cultural attacks, because this problem is becoming more and more of a "thing", much like DDOS attacks. On average Saidit gets DDOS attacked literally 9 days out of 10, so the fact they'd be doing cultural attacks around the clock would also be unsurprising.

It could be any number of people or organizations doing this. It's very hard to tell. That's part of what makes the attacks so hard to stop. They're all just normal users until they show their true colors

Lots of speculation in the comments that it's Reddit (and/or their Chinese overlords) trying to take out a competitor.

I sent that screenshot to a guy I know and he claimed traffic fatalities are up because people drive more recklessly with seatbelts. We live in the US and traffic fatalities peaked in the 70s and have been going down ever since; that’s not per capita, that’s total. Really hope I never have to be in a car with him.

Of course anti seatbelt people hold no candle to the anti motorcycle helmet people.

There's a case to be made that arbitrarily low speed limits increase traffic fatalities on highways and freeways, but not for seatbelts lol. Seatbelts were the only good thing that fruit Ralph Nader ever did.
