To these people, the Constitution isn't the guiding document for an enduring society, it's a toolbox. When they have Federal power, they pick up the Supremacy Clause and the general welfare clause and use those to hammer the people. When they have state power, they pick up the 10th Amendment and use that to screw the people. It's about power, not consistency. That's why they can argue Federal forces should be used to enforce Supreme Court orders, but Federal police shouldn't protect Federal courthouses.
It takes serious effort to segregate yourself that well. Most Americans will never set foot in a place that white.

Not to powerlevel, but being familiar with the northeastern coast, which Belfast is on, a lot of those "African Americans" are probably black immigrants/refugees. Belfast voted for Clinton 60.8%, while the entire state of Maine went 47.8% to Clinton, so like most of Maine's coastal towns, it's liberal.
