I attempted my own redesign of Love Letter's Senpai (on a picrew, since I can't draw to save my life). I tried to make him handsome and trendy for Japan while also being distinct and having recognizable traits like the undercut and eyebrow scar.

I gave him reddish hair and pink eyes as a sort of parallel to Bow-chan but made them softer shades to indicate that he's good and kind, as opposed to Bow's batshit craziness. I probably put far too much thought in this (probably even more than the actual character designers) but hey, quarantine has me bored and I am a sperg who likes redesigning characters.

I realize, that it is Alex's words, so they should be taken with a bag of salt, but I'm surprised any publisher is talking to him and even promises to make a game for him help him. Why? His game's prime in terms of popularity is long gone, his glorified pre-alpha is a walking joke and he himself is even bigger laughingstock. Furthermore, have they heard about his history with TinyBuild? Also, how do they hope to sell this shit? Steam will probably tell them to fuck off, EGS has even stricter policy, porting this spaghetti monster to any console is impossible task, add to this, that it is banned on Twitch, so no advertisements from streamers. It's a black hole of a business decisions.

It looks good! The chad look suits the character role. I always thought it would make more sense if the love interest were more of a playboy type, like Tohma from Misao. Seems it would be a better fit for a yandere game.

On other notes, I have no hope for LoveSick/Love Letter whatever it's called, it reeks of pure autism with an incompetent developer who can't choose moderators right and a botched launch. What's even worse for me is the amount of people parading it as great just because it competes with Alex's game, and solely for that reason alone. I sense another Watashi no Mono on our hands folks. Embrace yourselves for the forest fire, this is just the start.

Its easy to sit on the sidelines and watch a SJW artist shit their stuff over a discord, its another to see what happens when the developer tries to turn art and concept and models into reality. Once we have a playable build in our hands, then I can judge to what degree the project is fucked.

But seriously, that artist is fucked, and I don't get why people think the years they've spent doing something counts for anything. I don't give a fuck if they have fifty years experience drawing, if they're still drawing like shit.

DrApeis is a literal teenager. I suppose they were overwhelmed by the amount of support they received and had to scramble to get some moderators instead of selecting each applicant. The botched launch was also done sloppily, but remember that DrApeis is an awful manager.

Love Letter will probably go the way of Watashi no Mono.

Can i also comment on how impressive she is when it comes to speed ? She keeps pumping out high-quality art in no time. It's something i envy as an artist myself. Admittedly, her line art isn't clean (even in her professional work) but the messiness makes the drawing really charming and it's a unique touch.

If I was DrApeis i would have assigned her as a lead artist in NO time. Especially considering that she's doing high tier sketches FOR FREE. He really must be dumb.

I agree. I've seen projects that are overly hyped crash and burn, and it's mainly because they set up their expectations too high without knowing their capabilties, thus ending up with sub-par products or worse, some even ended up as scams haha. Mind you not every projects like this are bound to fail, but as long as the team is very competent and know what they're doing.

Her speed in creating art is one of the signs that she has experience in the art industry. The art industry, as I know of, is super strict with deadlines and you'd be in very big trouble if you're late for even one second. So pumping quality art one after another is a very good trait for work. It also leaves room for more improvement if any changes are needed to be done before submission.

DrApeis should seriously just go hire her instead.

SeeknDestroy is only 18 as well despite how professional she is. Judging by all the pieces she drew for this project, she seems to be willing to do sketches and some artwork for DrApeis (Although i doubt she would make full-blown professional paintings for free)
Her sketches are better than other artists' finished work, I would genuinely use them as official art.
