It worked and he got his female teenager insurance rates despite the fact he doesn't actually identify as female in day to day life. I can't imagine a shrink signed off on that one. That kid is going places if he's already gaming the system at 16.

According to this, yes, a person still needs a "Physician’s or Psychologist’s Confirmation of Change of Gender Designation” in order to alter their sex on a birth certificate. Once the birth certificate is done, they can go on to change sex on other legal identity documents like a driver's license or a health services card.

That said, I’m sure the necessary approval is available pretty much for the asking. Like the kid in your example, meaningful gatekeeping for legal sex change in Canada appears to be nearly non-existent.

Oddly enough, it looks like absolutely NO approval from a doctor or therapist is required for a Canadian citizen to change sex on a passport. All they have to do is request a new passport with a short form stating their preferred “gender identifier.” The application shows a choice of male, female or X because, apparently, they are now trying to accommodate people who identity as non-binary.

In Yaniv’s case, he may have done some, all or none of the above. In the most recent legal documents posted upthread his name appears as “Jessica Yaniv,” but that could just reflect a simple name change.

Like I said, it’s hard to believe any medical professional would assist a pedo creeper like Yaniv in changing his legal status from male to female, let alone carve a permanent wound into his taint, but who knows? When it comes to troonery, way too many doctors and therapists have proven themselves willing and eager to compromise the most basic principles of medical ethics.

Best case scenario, Yaniv is turned down at GRS Montreal, refuses to accept their decision and tries to force them to mutilate his penis. If we’re lucky, we might get another lawsuit, some really purposeful media baiting or even an encore appearance before the Human Rights Tribunal!
